ABOUT THE TOUR

Andermatt - Ski Touring and Freeriding: Around the freeride mecca of Andermatt, we'll pick the best options for ourselves from a multitude of possibilities during this week of touring. The region around Andermatt is one of the snowiest areas in the entire Alps, and the relatively manageable ski area is appreciated for not being overcrowded. Even more fantastic are the numerous descent options, where the snow remains relatively untouched for a long time, as it thankfully requires some short climbs with skins to unlock the full potential of the slopes. We'll also incorporate some fantastic ski tours in the nearby Val Bedretto, on the Oberalp Pass, or towards the Furka Pass into this week's touring program, flexibly adapting our tours to the best snow and weather conditions. We certainly won't be short of options during this week of touring.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival, Check-In, and a First Run to Get Acquainted
We'll meet at our accommodation in Andermatt in the early morning. After a brief welcome, we'll grab our skis and, depending on snow conditions, either embark on a short ski tour or enjoy a few turns on one of the easily accessible slopes in Andermatt's freeride area. We'll end the evening with a group dinner and review the program for the coming days.

Days 2-5: Freeriding and Ski Touring "Until Your Calves Burn"
We have four full days to explore the area around Andermatt extensively on our skis. The program is intentionally flexible so we can adapt to the local snow and weather conditions to ensure a maximum experience for all participants. If possible, the focus of this tour week will be on downhill skiing, and we'll rack up plenty of vertical meters in the freeride area for relatively little uphill climbing. If the snow conditions don't permit this, we'll take advantage of the wonderful ski touring opportunities in the region.

Day 6: Breakfast together and individual departure
We'll end the last day with a relaxed breakfast together, pack our belongings, and ensure everyone is well-rested and refreshed for even potentially longer journeys home, so we can all get back home safely.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
