ABOUT THE TOUR
Fennberg Via Ferrata (C): In the lowlands on the border of South Tyrol and Trentino, this beautiful via ferrata runs high above the vineyards of the Etschtal Valley. Almost year-round, you can soak up many hours of sunshine here on the eastern flank of the Fennberg. However, due to its orientation and altitude, it is usually very hot, especially in summer, and the best time to climb it is spring or fall. The via ferrata was completely renovated in 2023 and is a worthwhile destination for anyone who enjoys combining via ferratas with beautiful hikes.

PROGRAM
The starting point for this via ferrata is in Margreid on the Weinstraße. From the parking lot, the route heads south through the vineyards to the start. The via ferrata itself climbs upwards in several stages, interspersed with walking sections. The most difficult sections are found at the beginning, and towards the top, there are only a few B sections and a large number of A and A/B sections. However, the view of the Etschtal Valley becomes more and more spectacular the higher we climb. From the summit, we enjoy a beautiful panorama and then begin the descent back to Margreid. A very beautiful circular tour with 1,000 meters of elevation gain, almost mostly covered on a via ferrata, and a leisurely descent in one of the many diverse regions of South Tyrol.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
