ABOUT THE TOUR

Günther Messner Steig (A/B): The Günther Messner Steig is located in the Aferer Geisler mountains. It is named after Reinhold Messner's brother, who died in an accident on Naga Parbat. A beautifully landscaped trail, dotted with via ferrata sections, leads along the ridge of the Aferer Geisler. Those looking for something a little more challenging can take a variation of the via ferrata and spice it up a bit with a difficulty level of C.

PROGRAM

At the parking lot, we'll conduct a quick gear check and distribute any necessary rental equipment.

First, we'll hike from the parking lot in Zans along the Oberer Herrensteig trail to the Kofelalm. A short detour (+30 minutes) will take us to Tulln, the highest peak in this mountain range.

Shortly afterward, the first via ferrata sections begin. We'll put on our climbing harnesses and helmets and assemble our via ferrata sets. Those who aren't yet feeling completely comfortable will be secured with the mountain guide's rope to ensure the via ferrata experience is enjoyable for everyone.

Basically, this is an exposed hiking trail interspersed with beautiful via ferrata sections, making this tour a delightful and varied experience. Those who want to spice things up can tackle the more difficult C variant.

After the technical climbing challenges, the trail leads us past the Zendleser Kofel to the Schlüterhütte, where we'll enjoy some well-deserved refreshments. Passing the Gampen Alm we then return to our starting point in Zans.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
