ABOUT THE TOUR
Ahornach - Hans Kammerlander Via Ferrata (E): The name says it all. Named after the extreme mountaineer Hans Kammerlander, this via ferrata in his hometown of Ahornach absolutely lives up to its name. An extremely demanding and difficult via ferrata through a 300-meter-high, vertical rock face demands absolute determination and technical climbing skill. This via ferrata is reserved only for very experienced and strong via ferrata climbers. The extreme exposure and fantastic views down below require a head for heights and strong nerves. The via ferrata is rarely easier than C and offers two sections of difficulty grade E and numerous D sections. Strength and endurance are required – there are no emergency exits. An ingenious and demanding via ferrata adventure for anyone who needs a challenge and wants to hold on tight and exert themselves on a via ferrata.

- Good physical endurance (300 meters of elevation gain and 600 meters of via ferrata route to be completed)
- Climbing experience is definitely an advantage

- Completely unsuitable for beginners and less experienced via ferrata climbers!

PROGRAM
We meet directly in the village of Ahornach, where we park. From the village center, we descend gently to the start of the Hans Kammerlander via ferrata. The approach takes about 30 minutes. From here, it's a matter of holding on for a good three hours, climbing higher, hanging further, and in between enjoying the fantastic views down the steep wall. A truly challenging and very rewarding via ferrata adventure that experienced via ferrata climbers can definitely look forward to. Many varied passages await us, including suspension bridges of various designs, a 15-meter-long hanging ladder, a tree trunk, and fantastic climbing spots. From the exit, we return to the village and the starting point of our tour with great memories.
