Ifinger - Heini-Holzer-Klettersteig (B/C): A long, enjoyable via ferrata with beautiful panoramic views over Meran, in the moderate difficulty range. A fantastic mountain experience, also for the whole family, on a lovely summit with superb all-round views of the surrounding Sarntal Alps in the heart of South Tyrol and deep into the Vinschgau.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Via ferrata on Ifinger
We meet at one of the valley stations of the Meran 2000 ski area. Either in Naif, where we take the large gondola up to the Piffing top station, or in Falzeben with the cable car. From the top station, we follow the approach path for just under an hour to the start.
Over the next good 2 hours, on the Heini-Holzer-Klettersteig and secured by the steel cable, we gain around 500 vertical metres until we reach the summit of Kleinen Ifinger. After thoroughly enjoying the panorama down over Meran and across to the surrounding peaks, we return via the descent path in about 1.5 hours to the cable car.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - (FAQs)
Is the Heini-Holzer-Klettersteig suitable for beginners?
Only to a limited extent for complete beginners. The via ferrata is graded B/C, moderately difficult, and quite long. If you already have some initial via ferrata experience and are sure-footed, the tour is very suitable.
What do I need for the tour?
The most important things are sturdy mountain boots and clothing suited to the weather. You will receive the exact packing list with the confirmation email. Via ferrata set, harness, and helmet can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
Do we take the cable car up or go on foot?
As a rule, we use the cable car from Meran 2000 so that we can start straight into the actual tour. Without the lift, the approach becomes significantly longer and the day tour correspondingly more strenuous.
