ABOUT THE TOUR

Kaiserjägersteig and Lagazuoi Tunnel (A): An easy, adventurous, and very beautiful combination of two via ferratas in the Ampezzo Dolomites, it is particularly suitable for via ferrata beginners as well as families and children. Especially suitable for younger via ferrata climbers, there is the option of taking the cable car up to Lagazuoi and descending through the adventurous tunnel from the First World War, where there are numerous peepholes, side passages, and hidden chambers to discover and explore. This way, there are no arduous vertical climbs to be mastered on the ascent, and the focus is on the unspoiled experience. For everyone else, the combination with the Kaiserjägersteig on the ascent is the ideal tour for a beautiful circuit of Lagazuoi with enjoyable via ferrata passages.

PROGRAM

The starting point for this tour is the parking lot at the Falzarego Pass. Here, we'll briefly check our equipment (don't forget your headlamps for the tunnel) and distribute any rental gear.

We'll then ascend to the start of the Kaiserjägersteig trail, which we'll reach after about 30 minutes. Here, we'll put on our climbing harnesses, put on our helmets, and assemble our via ferrata gear. The climb to the Lagazuoi begins with easy climbing sections, interrupted by short walking sections.

At the top, we'll have the opportunity to stop for a drink or a light snack at the hut and enjoy the beautiful view from this eagle's nest.

We'll then descend to the Falzarego Pass through the tunnel that soldiers built through the mountain during the First World War, featuring numerous side passages, chambers, and exciting viewpoints right in the middle of the wall.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
