PROGRAM

Day 1:
Content: Companion rescue and avalanche knowledge lecture

Depending on the snow conditions and the destination, we will meet at an individually agreed meeting point on the first day and travel together to the starting point. After a quick gear check and a few brief explanations, we will warm up with a short climb, after which we will begin with the topic of companion rescue. On this day, we will primarily practice avalanche transceiver searches and probing, arriving at our accommodation in the afternoon. There, we will receive a lecture on avalanche knowledge and how to apply this knowledge to the terrain.

Day 2:
Content: Ski tour to apply what we have learned to the terrain and tour planning for Day 3

The next day, we will go on a short ski tour, stopping frequently along the way to see how we can apply what we learned the previous day to the terrain and what decisions we need to make. Along the way, we will also dig a snow profile and examine the snowpack structure, as well as conduct an ECT. We'll learn what important insights we can gain from this and where the limits of the informative value of snow profiles lie.

In the afternoon, we'll return to our accommodation. Before dinner, there will be a short presentation on tour planning and the task of planning a tour for the third day based on everything we've learned so far.

Day 3:
Content: Practice Tour

On the last day, we'll complete the tour we planned the day before and see if our assumptions were correct, if we planned correctly, and if the tour can be carried out exactly as we anticipated. This will be a particularly educational day, combining everything we've learned from the previous two days.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
