ABOUT THE TOUR

Toblinger Knoten - Ladder Trail (C): The ladder trail to the Toblinger Knoten is an extremely exciting relic from the First World War. Built by Austrian soldiers to man a post on the summit, the old paths of this historic trail are still used today. The name "Ladder Trail" is not without reason: A total of 17 ladders lead, mostly through a chimney, right across the vertical northern flank to the summit. An unforgettable via ferrata experience directly from the birthplace of the First World War "via ferrata."

PROGRAM

We'll meet at the Auronzo Hut parking lot and, after a quick gear check, begin our approach toward the Toblinger Knoten (Toblinger Knoten). First, we'll follow wide, well-trodden paths over the Patern Saddle to the Drei Zinnen Hut.

Passing the hut and the Sextner Stein (Sextner Stein), we'll reach the Toblinger Knoten (Toblinger Knoten). The via ferrata begins on the north side of this rocky tower. Once at the start, we'll put on our via ferrata gear and work our way up the numerous rungs.

Wonderfully exposed, we'll follow the old climbing routes built by the Kaiserjäger (Imperial Hunters), forgotten after the war, and finally renovated in 1979, becoming an absolute classic among the Dolomites via ferratas.

The summit is probably the most beautiful vantage point of the north faces of the Three Peaks, and the panorama is absolutely stunning! After enjoying the view, we'll follow the descent on the east side, where the route (A/B) is much easier and leads back down to the Drei Zinnen Hut. Finally, we follow the wide hiking trail, which we already know from the approach, back to the parking lot.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
