ABOUT THE TOUR

Rotwand Via Ferrata (A/B): The via ferrata along the north ridge to the Rotwandspitze in the Rosengarten massif is one of the most enjoyable via ferratas in the Dolomites. The route leads without great difficulty through a magnificent setting to the Rotwand – with stunning panoramas included! At the summit, you have the choice of extending the tour into a worthwhile traverse by descending the east ridge, descending again via the north ridge, or, for those with particularly strong stamina, even adding the Masare via ferrata.

PROGRAM

At the parking lot, we'll conduct a quick gear check and distribute any necessary rental equipment.

We'll take the chairlift to the Paolina Hut and hike below the Croda Rossa to the Vajolon Pass.

Shortly after, the first via ferrata sections begin. At the pass, we'll put on our climbing harnesses and helmets and assemble our via ferrata sets. Those who aren't yet feeling completely comfortable will be secured with the mountain guide's rope to ensure the via ferrata experience is enjoyable for everyone.

Enjoyable and without major climbing difficulties, we'll continue along the iron path, ideal even for via ferrata beginners, along the north ridge to the summit of the Croda Rossa.

We'll thoroughly enjoy the stunning panorama from the summit and decide whether to extend the tour into a traverse (with slightly higher difficulty, B/C, up to the Croda Rossa Saddle) and return to the Paolina Hut via the Croda Rossa Hut. Or whether we'll descend back to the Vajolon Pass via the north ridge and hike the already familiar trail back to the Paolina Hut.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
