ABOUT THE TOUR

Santner Pass Via Ferrata (B/C, II): The Santner Pass Via Ferrata leads along the west face below the Rosengartenspitze to the Santner Pass, where the ultra-modern Santner Pass Hut is located. Upon reaching the notch, we also reach the so-called "Gartl" (garden) of the Rosengarten massif. This is where the legend of King Laurin, who turned his own Rosengarten into stone, originated. Following the via ferrata, we hike past the Vajolet Towers and circumnavigate the Rosengartenspitze, returning via the Tschagerjoch to the starting point at the Kölner Hut. A beautiful circular tour, topped off with a via ferrata that is not secured with wire ropes throughout, requiring surefootedness.

PROGRAM

At the parking lot, we'll conduct a brief gear check and distribute any necessary rental equipment.

We'll take the cable car to the Kölnerhütte, where we'll put on our climbing harnesses and helmets and assemble our via ferrata set. Those who aren't yet feeling completely comfortable will be secured with the mountain guide's rope. The via ferrata essentially begins behind the hut.

After a short warm-up section, we'll continue our leisurely hike northward beneath the west face of the Rosengartenspitze. There will be unsecured scrambling sections alternating with sections secured with wire ropes.

Surefootedness and concentrated climbing are required, especially in the unsecured sections. Those who aren't feeling comfortable will be secured with a short rope.

As soon as we reach the Santner Pass, we'll fortify ourselves in one of the huts and then continue our descent into the Rosengarten massif on beautiful hiking trails. Passing the Vajolet Towers and around the Rosengartenspitze, we'll return to the Kölnerhütte via the Tschagerjoch Pass.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
