Terms and Conditions
General terms and conditions
The most important thing right up front
We strongly recommend taking out cancellation insurance for all tours booked with Südtirolalpin!
Unfortunately, it often happens that tours have to be cancelled at short notice for various reasons (illness, injury, personal or business reasons). To protect ourselves against these complete cancellations, cancellation fees are unavoidable for us as a small business. Therefore, the conditions described below apply without exception .
If the tour is cancelled by us (Südtirolalpin), you will not incur any cancellation fees. You can read the details below under point 8.
Tarif
Minimum tariff
The legally mandated minimum rate for South Tyrolean mountain guides is set annually in April at the general meeting for the following year. Currently (as of 2026), this rate is €440 per day (plus taxes). For tours booked well in advance, we reserve the right to adjust the price to these fixed rates. This will always be done in consultation with you; in the event of price adjustments, you have the right to cancel free of charge .
Special rates
Depending on the difficulty, potential dangers, or special features of the route, the daily rate will be adjusted (see tour description or individual offer). For long journeys (e.g., to the Western Alps, travel time > 5 hours), an additional daily rate will be charged.
2. Additional Costs & Expenses
Participant costs
Expenses for your own travel, accommodation and meals are not included in the price.
Mountain guide expenses
The expenses incurred for the mountain guide (especially accommodation, half board, and lift, taxi or other transport costs ) are not included in the fee and must be borne by the participants.
Advance payment of additional costs
Should we arrange or advance payments for services from third parties (hotels, cabins, transfers) on your behalf, the following applies in the event of cancellation: These amounts will not be refunded or credited . Any outstanding external cancellation fees will be invoiced separately.
3. Booking & Deposit
Conclusion of contract
A contract is formed upon our written booking confirmation.
down payment
A deposit is required for each tour. Your booking is only confirmed upon receipt of the deposit. Until then, the booking remains tentative. If you cancel, your deposit is non-refundable.
pay
Due date: Full payment of the remaining balance (total price less deposit) is due according to the deadlines stated in the booking confirmation or invoice.
Payment terms: The remaining balance is generally due immediately after the service has been provided (in cash or by bank transfer). For trips, courses, or special multi-day tours, we reserve the right to request the remaining balance before the tour begins. Please refer to your personal invoice for the exact due date.
Payment methods:
-
Cash payment directly to the mountain guide after the tour.
-
Transfer to the bank account specified in the invoice.

5. Third-party cancellation fees
All cancellation fees charged by third parties (huts, hotels, flights, etc.) will always be passed on to you in full , regardless of the current cancellation level of our guide fee.
6. Weather, conditions & safety
The decision to proceed rests solely with the mountain guide. Bad weather or a lack of a panoramic view are not grounds for a free cancellation by the client.
Alternative offers
If a tour cannot take place due to weather or danger, we will offer an alternative program or an equivalent alternative tour. If you decline this reasonable alternative , your deposit will be forfeited. No further cancellation fees will apply, however, you will be responsible for all external costs incurred by third parties.
7. Program changes & requirements
Program change
For safety reasons (weather, lack of skill), the mountain guide may adjust or cancel the program. There is no entitlement to a reduction in the fee.
Requirements
The stated requirements (physical fitness, technical skills) are part of the contract. Those who do not meet these requirements may be excluded. Please inform us in advance of any health conditions (allergies, heart problems, diabetes, etc.).
8. Cancellation by Südtirolalpin
A. Internal cancellation (e.g., guide illness, insufficient number of participants)
All amounts already paid to us will be fully refunded.
B. Cancellation due to force majeure (weather/safety)
If a tour has to be cancelled, we will try to offer an alternative. If no alternative is possible or is declined, your payment will be credited towards a rescheduled date . No cash refunds will be issued. Non-recoverable third-party costs remain the responsibility of the customer.
9. Liability & Loan Equipment
Liability
Mountaineering involves residual risks (rockfall, avalanches, etc.) that even a professional cannot completely eliminate. You acknowledge this risk upon booking. Südtirolalpin's liability is limited to intent and gross negligence.
Rental equipment
We maintain our equipment diligently. We are not liable for accidents caused by undetected defects . In case of loss or damage (beyond normal wear and tear), the current market value will be reimbursed.
10. Vouchers & Images
Vouchers
Valid for 2 years . If a tour booked with a voucher is cancelled, the normal cancellation conditions apply; the voucher value will be reduced by the cancellation fee.

Photos from the tour may be used on the website or social media (exclusively for Südtirolalpin). If you do not wish this, please inform us in writing before the tour begins.
