I took my first steps on the grassy hills of the Sarntal Alps. As beautiful as my home mountains are, they don't have much to offer in terms of alpinism. Once I had explored everything, the peaks I set my sights on soon got higher, the faces steeper and the challenges greater. As a small child I already spent many months in an alpine hut. My siblings and I kept our grandmother on her toes during the long Italian summer holidays, while our parents occasionally came by at weekends to check that all was well. Back then there were often arguments when our friends were allowed to go to the swimming pool and we had to go to the mountains yet again, but today I am endlessly grateful for that time. It gave me a healthy closeness to nature and countless memories of carefree hours in the fresh air. Looking back, the path seemed mapped out. Even so, it took many intermediate steps and detours before I became a mountain guide. For 15 years I volunteered with the South Tyrolean Alpine Club, taking children and young people climbing, mountaineering and to hut camps. I also taught numerous climbing courses at the Vertikale climbing gym in Brixen and worked in an office on the side, only to put all the money I earned back into mountain sports. In 2019 I decided to do the mountain guide training in South Tyrol together with Armin, swapped the screen for a rope and ice axe, and now work full-time as an IFMGA certified mountain and ski guide. Since 2019, my little daughter has also been waiting at home for me to always come back safe and sound from my tours.​
