The Langkofel group rises to 3,118 meters above the Val Gardena valley and is the region's landmark. With its proud peaks and numerous bold spires and pinnacles, it is one of the most striking Dolomite massifs of all. It's therefore hardly surprising that the profession of mountain guide has a long tradition in the valleys surrounding the Langkofel . Many of the best alpinists of their time have also matured in the shadow of this impressive mountain range and made alpine history in the mountains of the world. 

What's unique is how well the region is developed for tourism, but as soon as you delve deeper you can still find yourself in complete solitude and an incredibly wild atmosphere. Whether you want to marvel at the up to 1,000 meter high vertical rock faces from below and circle the Sassolungo group on gentle alpine paths, venture out onto some of the longest Dolomite cliffs , or tackle the adventurous normal routes that cleverly follow the easiest paths through seemingly insurmountable rock faces: there's something for everyone here in a very small space. Even peaks like the Sasso Piatto are easy to climb on well-trodden paths. Fans of via ferratas are also not left out and will find several of them in breathtaking surroundings. But that's not all: in winter the Sasso Piatto is home to one of the best ski areas with a seemingly endless number of magnificent huts that not only conjure up local delicacies but also impress with unusual creations. If all this is too much hustle and bustle for you, you can take your touring skis and head into the snow-filled couloirs , leaving the hustle and bustle of the slopes behind.
