The extreme variant of the Selvaggio Blu runs along the Golfo di Orosei on the east coast of Sardinia from north to south – exactly the opposite direction to the classic Selvaggio. As a result, this variant features considerably more abseils, scrambling passages and via ferrata sections up to grade C/D. The tour offers a few absolute highlights that are truly unique and make this variant an unforgettable experience – even for anyone who has already done the classic Selvaggio Blu.
CORSICA
GR20
The Grande Randonée No. 20 is considered one of the most demanding long-distance trails in Europe. Rugged landscapes, solitude, intense heat by day and bitter cold at night at high altitude may not sound all that tempting at first. But the GR20 runs right through a breathtaking mountain landscape across the island of Corsica. Unique panoramas, picturesque natural pools, wild and romantic pastures roamed by wild horses and a landscape impressively shaped by wind and weather make it a trekking experience of a very special kind. Etna and Stromboli
Southern Italy is home to some of the most active volcanoes on earth. Besides the 3,340-metre Mount Etna in Sicily, which makes headlines with spectacular eruptions every year and offers the entire spectrum from lava fountains to Strombolian explosions and glowing lava flows, we will also visit the namesake of one of these eruption types, Stromboli itself, which is active even more regularly: every half hour it hurls glowing lava and chunks of rock out of its crater in explosive eruptions.
