The Cadini Group lies directly south of the Drei Zinnen, which is a real blessing for this group. While almost all the crowds head up to the Auronzo Hut and the Zinnen, the Cadini Group usually stays quiet. Yet the Cadini, studded with countless small towers and wild formations, are a true paradise for climbers.

Not far from the beautifully situated Lake Misurina lies the starting point into one of the most scenically spectacular areas of the Dolomites UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site. The countless jagged spires have also become very popular with photographers. But people were climbing their faces long before anyone photographed them. The area has several great classics, such as the Mazzorana route on the Torre Wundt, dating from 1938.

The Rifugio Fondo Savio offers superb accommodation amid an indescribable landscape and makes an ideal base for several days of climbing. If you prefer to traverse the area, you can do so in winter on touring skis or in summer along the cable-protected via ferrata sections of the Sentiero Durissini.

Another highlight of the region is the "Merlone" via ferrata. It is a relic of the 1960s, when aid climbing was especially popular. Numerous ladders were fixed along the vertical rock faces, leading up to the 2,788-metre Cima Cadin.
