The Puez Geisler lie within the nature park of the same name and comprise 2 separate massifs: the Geisler group high above the Villnöß valley, the birthplace of Reinhold Messner, and the Puez group which borders the Gadertal to the west. The whole area offers many rewarding summits, which can be reached via fantastic via ferratas, beautiful hikes, on touring skis in winter or by alpine climbing in summer. The best thing about this area, however, is its commitment to gentle tourism. Apart from the south side of the Geisler peaks on the Gröden side, there are no lifts here, so you have to earn the summits honestly on foot and by climbing.

Via ferrata enthusiasts will find several rewarding options in the area, such as the traverse of the Sas Rigais, the highest summit in the area. The Aferer Geisler also offer a beautiful traverse of the ridge via the Günther Messner via ferrata.

In winter, the Puez group is a true ski touring paradise with enjoyable ski peaks and perfect ski terrain in a breathtaking setting. Those who like it a little steeper in particular will find several spectacular couloirs here, such as the Valscura on the Sassongher, the north couloir on the Puezspitze, the highest summit of the Puez group, or the north couloir on the Kapuziner (Piz Somplunt), as well as many other hidden gems.

Climbers will also be in their element here. On the south side of the Geisler peaks in particular, you can climb adventurous Dolomite routes with classic protection in a T-shirt in the sunshine well into the autumn.
