PROGRAM

Day 1: Meeting point: Santa Maria Navarese
We will meet in Santa Maria Navarese at Franco's accommodation. In the evening, I will introduce you to the tour and provide all the important information during a dinner together in town. The next morning, Franco will bring us a wonderful breakfast with local products and homemade delicacies.

Day 2: Arrival at Selvaggio Blu
After breakfast together, we will be taken to Baunei and further up into the mountains. This is our starting point for Selvaggio Blu. Exciting trail finding, breathtaking views down to the sea, and varied landscapes already characterize the first stage. After about 5 hours of walking, during which we will take plenty of time to enjoy the view and take photos, we will reach the first bay and possible bivouac site. Here we can cool off and set up camp. Depending on the possibilities and available space, we may walk another 15 minutes to the next bay and set up camp there. Towards evening, a supply boat will bring us food, drinks, tents, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, and personal equipment. We will cook together and end the day around the campfire.
5 hours – ↑ 200 meters elevation gain - ↓ 950 meters elevation loss – 9 km
Climbing sections II. degree

Day 3: Sardinia's dream beaches
On the third day, we leave our picturesque bay after sunrise and continue along the Selvaggio Blu, high above the sea. Technically speaking, this stage is the easiest and best marked on the entire Selvaggio Blu. It leads along relatively well-trodden paths through the Sardinian maquis. Nevertheless, there are also places here that require the utmost concentration and, depending on the situation, a fixed rope to hold on to. Again and again, we are rewarded with breathtaking views, especially from Punta Salinas down to the impressive rock needle “Aguglia di Goloritze.” In the late afternoon, we reach our next stage destination at one of the most beautiful beaches. Here we will end the day with a relaxing swim in the sea and then take the boat for the remaining few kilometers to our next bivouac site. How could it be otherwise, this site is also picturesquely located above an absolutely dreamlike beach, which invites you to take a dip in the sea both in the evening and right after getting up.
6 hours – ↑ 570 meters elevation gain - ↓ 570 meters elevation loss – 10 km

Day 4: Winding trails and exciting abseiling spots
We leave this picturesque spot and climb a little higher to embark on a journey of discovery along a beautiful but technically challenging section of the Selvaggio Blu. The terrain becomes increasingly winding and slowly but surely we reach the heart of the Selvaggio Blu. Soon we reach the first abseiling section of the day – and it is also one of the most spectacular. The rest of the trail is no less impressive, and on this day, the Selvaggio Blu really picks up speed in terms of scenery. On narrow rock ledges directly above the sea, past caves and passages, the east coast of Sardinia shows yet another new and impressive face – one that has earned the Selvaggio Blu the reputation of probably being the most beautiful and wildest trek in Europe. Despite the challenging terrain, it is the shortest stage and there is plenty of time in the afternoon to relax on the beach and prepare mentally and physically for the longest stage on the fourth day.
5 hours – ↑ 700 meters elevation gain - ↓ 700 meters elevation loss – 7 km
Climbing sections II+ - Abseiling sections up to 45 meters (variants up to 60 meters possible)

Day 5: The heart of Selvaggio Blu
After sunrise, which we can admire almost every day right from our sleeping bags, and a hearty breakfast, we set off on the longest stage. Passing through mystical forests and dreamlike bays below, it is very likely that on this day at the latest we will encounter one or two feral pigs roaming the countryside and digging vigorously in the ground. First, however, we have to pass through the so-called Urele Forest. This is a section where it is easy to get lost. After that, we continue along the cliffs with breathtaking views down into the azure blue sea, from which Selvaggio Blu takes its apt name. One of the highlights of the day will be abseiling down to the entrance of one of Sardinia's most beautiful and important caves and exploring it. Right by the sea, we will enjoy our daily “marende” or snack and fortify ourselves for a breathtaking traverse directly along the cliffs by the sea.
Kletterstellen III. Grad und Abseilstellen bis zu 40mt.

Day 6: Final stage with numerous highlights
It's hard to believe that this is already the last day on the Selvaggio Blu. The final stage takes us from our bivouac site back up 300 meters into the mountains along the familiar paths of the previous day. It is one of the more pleasant stages, as the trails are relatively good and there is not as much elevation gain to contend with. Nevertheless, this last stage is peppered with numerous highlights. Four abseiling points await us on this day, including long abseiling points of up to 40 meters. It's hard to believe, but this last stage also has a completely new look with unforgettable and distinctive passages in store for us. At some point, we reach the ruins of a massive rockfall that occurred in 2015. This is followed by a via ferrata along fixed ropes with beautiful photo opportunities and the azure blue sea in the background. Below a perfectly shaped rock nose, we will enjoy a final lunch in the midst of Sardinian nature.
Grateful, we escape the warm sun into dark forests and suddenly find ourselves at the last abseiling point where we see our destination, Cala Sisine. It is a wonderful feeling to step out of the forest onto the beach and celebrate the last few meters of the Selvaggio Blu. After five days of pure adventure, long nights around the campfire and under the starry sky, and the simple life of sitting on the ground to eat, the final dip in the cool sea is a dream come true. On the beach or in the bar a little further back, we reflect on the wonderful days before we are taken back to Santa Maria Navarese by dinghy. Here, we have another breathtaking bird's-eye view of the route we have taken over the last few days. It is always amazing to see where this path leads and that it is even possible. Once we arrive in Santa Maria, the day is not over yet: a final highlight is dinner at Silvio's beautiful Ovile in the Baunei mountains, where we are treated to Sardinian specialties. After 5 days of Selvaggio Blu, this refreshment comes just at the right time, and Silvio and his family make sure that even the hungriest among us will go to bed full and satisfied that evening.
6 hours – ↑ 650 meters elevation gain - ↓ 750 meters elevation loss – 11 km
Climbing sections III. degree and several abseiling sections up to 40 meters.

The 7th day is still open for a few days of individual time to enjoy the Sardinian sun.
Day 7: Breakfast together and individual departure
After a final breakfast together at our accommodation in Santa Maria, it's time to say goodbye again. We'll review the week together and then pack our bags and officially end Selvaggio Blu. Anyone who wants to can stay on for a few more days and enjoy the Sardinian sun for a little longer!

Important information: We will be traveling light on the daily stages. We only need to carry what we need for the day. Everything else will be brought to our bivouac sites in the evening. Nevertheless, our belongings will have to be carried uphill, especially at Biriola and Mariolu beaches. Therefore, please only pack what you need for the nights and possibly a change of clothes for these 5 days. In addition to your personal luggage, there will be communal bags with cooking utensils, food, water, etc.

Respect: We are visiting this very traditional and unique pasture, where shepherds have led their animals from one pasture to the next for centuries along the exposed and hidden paths - on which we are now also traveling. Along the way, we repeatedly encounter the classic shelters and stables of the shepherds. We will be guests in this area with the utmost respect: it goes without saying that we will not leave any trash behind.
