PROGRAM

Day 1: San Candido - Three Peaks Hut
The starting point for the Dolomites High Trail 4 is the Innerfeld Valley near San Candido. From here, we hike along trail no. 105 past the Dreischusterspitze, Morgenkopf, and the Toblinger Knoten to the Drei Zinnen Hut, the destination of the first stage.
4.5 hours – ↑ 1,100 meters in elevation gain – ↓ 50 meters in elevation gain – 9 km

Day 2: Drei Zinnen Hut - Rifugio Fondo Savio
On the second day, we will pass beneath the imposing north faces of the Zinnen and ascend to the Col Medo saddle. We pass the Auronzo Hut parking lot and set our sights directly on the Cadini Group. Via the Sentiero Bonacossa, we reach the Forcella de Rinbianco and the Rifugio Fondo Savio, partly on an airy path and partly secured by wire ropes.
5 hours – ↑ 600 meters elevation gain – ↓ 600 meters elevation gain – 10 km

Day 3: Rifugio Fondo Savio - Rifugio Vandelli
We leave the beautifully situated Rifugio Fondo Savio and, as the stage progresses, the Cadini Group, and continue hiking along the Sentiero Bonacossa and trail 1120 to the Hotel Cristallo. On the opposite side, we climb again to the picturesque Lake Sorapis and the Rifugio Vandelli, our destination for the day.
6.5 hours – ↑ 1,200 meters elevation gain – ↓ 1,600 meters elevation gain – 14.5 km

Day 4: Rifugio Vandelli - Bivacco Comici
Things are getting adventurous in the Sorapis Group. The first day of our traverse of this mountain range is challenging, airy, and peppered with several climbing sections, via the Ferrata Vandelli (C) to the Bivacco Comici. This section is very exposed in places and requires surefootedness and a head for heights. Not all sections are secured with a wire rope. In the bivouac, we have to forgo the comfort of a serviced hut. A simple and authentic mountaineering experience awaits us during these days.
6.5 hours – ↑ 1,200 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 1,200 meters of elevation gain – 3.5 km

Day 5: Bivacco Comici - Rifugio San Marco
The second day of these demanding Sorapiss stages takes us from the bivouac via the Sentiero attrezzato Carlo Minazio (A/B), which is no longer as difficult, but still airy and adventurous, into the Val de San Vido and further to the Forcella Grande. Beyond, we soon reach our destination, the Rifugio San Marco, where we rediscover the comfort of hospitality.
6 hours – ↑ 700 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 850 meters of elevation gain – 6.5 km

Day 6: Rifugio San Marco - Rifugio Antelao
The penultimate day of this challenging Dolomites high-altitude trail first takes us past the Rifugio Galassi and along the north side of the Antelao to the Forcella del Ghiacciaio. Continuing via the Forcella Piria, we reach the Antelao Hut.
7 hours – ↑ 1,300 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 1,300 meters of elevation gain – 12 km

Day 7: Rifugio Antelao - Pieve di Cadore
Almost there: The final stage takes us without further difficulty from the Antelao Hut down to Pieve di Cadore, where a taxi will take us back to our cars in the Innerfeld Valley.
2.5 hours – ↓ 900 meters elevation gain – 6 km

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
