An autumn mountain tour past golden larches, white Dolomite walls, azure lakes and the many other plays of colour that the Dolomites have to offer in autumn. The hustle and bustle of summer is over, and we can experience the Dolomites in a completely different light and atmosphere.
Geologically, the Dolomites are fascinating: they formed around 250 million years ago from fossil coral reefs and tropical carbonate platforms in the Tethys Ocean. The Dolomites are named after the French geologist Déodat de Dolomieu, who first described this rock scientifically in 1791. In autumn, the low sun often produces the reddish glow on the rock faces that many people know as the Burning Dolomites.

Day 1: Autumn tour of your choice
We arrange the meeting point and time depending on the tour chosen. If possible, we can car-share to the starting point or meet directly there. We take care of all the planning for the tour. Special requests are of course always welcome and are built into the overall experience as far as possible. So nothing stands in the way of an enjoyable hike or mountain tour through the autumnal Dolomites, and you can enjoy the day to the full.
Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.

How is the exact tour chosen?
The exact route, the meeting point and the time are agreed depending on the tour chosen. The offer is deliberately open, so special requests can also be taken into account and built into the planning wherever possible.
How demanding is the autumn hike in the Dolomites?
That depends on the chosen tour and route. Walking time and vertical metres are not fixed either, because the day tour is tailored individually. So the hike can be a leisurely one or a little more demanding.
What should I bring on the tour?
For an autumn hike in the Dolomites you mainly need suitable mountain boots and clothing for cool temperatures. The detailed packing list comes with the confirmation email. If anything is missing, equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
