ABOUT THE TOUR

Six days on skis across the Dolomites – from Passo Rolle to Sexten.
6 days · Dolomites

The Dolomites Haute Route leads through some of the most beautiful mountain groups of the Dolomites in winter. We travel through a winter landscape that leaves us amazed again and again: past rugged and impressive rock walls, through gullies, and over some of the best ski slopes. What the Dolomites offer here in terms of scenic variety and distinctive character is something truly special in the Alps. Anyone who finds that hard to believe simply hasn’t seen it yet!

And the best part: the area offers us an incredible number of options to vary the tour completely and adapt it to the ability of the group, the snow conditions, and the current situation.

PROGRAM

Day 1-6: Through the Dolomites
We meet in South Tyrol; the exact meeting point will be arranged upon booking, and it is possible to join at several points. Together we will then be transferred to the starting point of this brilliant ski traverse at Passo Rolle in Trentino. From here, the ski touring finally begins.

What awaits us in the coming days will leave us staring in disbelief more than once. It is hard to believe that on touring skis you can cross such varied terrain in just a few days. With the help of a few cleverly used lift-assisted sections, we often rack up significantly more vertical descent than ascent. The accommodation is also among the highlights – in some places, sunrise and sunset are included as part of the experience.

All in all, over these six days we travel from Passo Rolle to Sexten. We adapt the exact route to the conditions and to the participants’ fitness. What is guaranteed, however, is this: the experience on this ski traverse definitely falls nothing short!

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - (FAQs)

Who is this ski traverse suitable for?
The tour is intended for strong and enduring ski mountaineers who want to spend several consecutive days on the move. Because the route is designed to be flexible, we can adapt it to the conditions and the group – and that is a major advantage here.

Is the route from Passo Rolle to Sexten fixed?
No, and that is very much intentional on this ski traverse. The exact line depends on snow, conditions, and the participants’ fitness. The overall framework is clear: six days through the Dolomites, but with enough scope to choose the best variant.

What equipment do I need to bring?
You will receive the detailed packing list with the confirmation email. Naturally, the essentials are your ski touring equipment and suitable clothing for several days. Missing equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
