In winter, the Dolomites Haute Route leads through some of the most beautiful mountain groups of the Dolomites. We travel through a winter landscape that amazes us time and again: past rugged, imposing rock faces, through gullies and over glorious ski slopes. The scenic variety and character the Dolomites offer here is something truly special in the Alps. If you find that hard to believe, you haven't seen it yet!
And the best part: the area gives us an incredible number of options to vary the tour completely and adapt it to the group's ability, the snow conditions and the current situation. That is exactly what makes this ski traverse so special.

Requirements:
'- Fitness for 1,000 vertical metres per day
- Confident skiing on slopes up to 35° (short sections may be a little steeper and will be protected accordingly)
- Ski touring experience
- with enough participants, a second mountain guide comes along, making it possible to shorten the tours or add extra summits. There are countless variations and ways to adapt to the participants' ability and fitness

PROGRAMME
Day 1-6: Through the Dolomites
We meet in Brixen (South Tyrol); the exact meeting point will be arranged when booking. Together we are then taken to the starting point of this superb ski traverse at Passo Rolle in Trentino. From here, the ski touring finally gets going.
What awaits us over the coming days will leave us staring in disbelief more than once. It is hard to believe that on touring skis you can travel through such varied scenery in just a few days. With the help of some cleverly used lifts, we often clock up considerably more metres of descent than of ascent. The accommodation is also among the highlights – sauna, excellent food, cosy huts – there's plenty of variety.
Over these six days we travel all the way from Passo Rolle to Sexten. We adapt the exact route to the conditions and the participants' fitness. But one thing is guaranteed: there is no shortage of experiences on this ski traverse!
Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.

Who is this ski traverse suitable for?
The tour is designed for good ski mountaineers with plenty of stamina who want to be on the move for several days in a row. Because the route is planned flexibly, we can adapt it to the conditions and the group – and that is a big advantage here.
Is the route from Passo Rolle to Sexten fixed?
The start point, end point and accommodation are, yes. But the exact line depends on the snow, the conditions and the participants' fitness. The framework is clear: six days through the Dolomites, but with enough leeway for the best variant.
What equipment do I need to bring?
You will receive the detailed packing list with your confirmation email. Essentials are, of course, your ski touring equipment and suitable clothing for several days. Any missing equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
