Via ferrata at Lake Garda: While there is still plenty of snow on the mountains of the Dolomites and the first spring flowers are only slowly starting to bloom in South Tyrol, just an hour's drive to the south it is often already T-shirt and gelato weather. Lake Garda has a large number of great via ferratas of all difficulty levels, and its easy access from South Tyrol makes it perfect for day trips that bring a first taste of summer.
We round off this lovely day with an ice cream or a Veneziano on the piazza in Arco, Riva or right by Lake Garda. Our tour programme includes a wide selection of via ferratas at Lake Garda. PROGRAMME
Day tour: Via ferrata at Lake Garda
We either meet directly at Lake Garda or you can get a lift from South Tyrol. There are many options, but the day runs along fairly similar lines. At the starting point we do a quick gear check and, once we have everything together, we hike to the start of the route as a group.
At the start we put on our equipment — harness, helmet and via ferrata set. Anyone doing a via ferrata for the first time gets a short introduction to the technique and all the essentials, so that you feel at ease on the rock. Then we make our way along the steel cables through the via ferrata together, adapting the pace and the tour to the group and the chosen route.
After the tour we treat ourselves to a well-earned aperitivo or a scoop of ice cream around Arco or Riva — at Lake Garda, that's simply part of the experience.
Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.

Who are the via ferratas at Lake Garda suitable for?
The offer is deliberately kept flexible. Around Lake Garda there are routes of very different difficulty, so both beginners with some sure-footedness and more experienced mountaineers can find suitable options. We choose the via ferrata to match your ability and your expectations.
What equipment do I need to bring?
For the day, you mainly need sturdy shoes and suitable clothing for the rock. You will receive the detailed packing list with the confirmation email. Technical equipment such as a helmet, harness or via ferrata set can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
Where do we meet for the tour?
We either meet directly at Lake Garda or you can get a lift from South Tyrol. We agree the exact meeting point with you depending on the chosen tour and route, so that everything runs as smoothly as possible for everyone.
