Große Cirspitze – Demetz

The Demetz Route or south-east arête on the Große Cirspitze is a beautiful climbing route with some interesting moves high above the Gardena Pass. The route has 9 pitches and leads straight to the summit of the Große Cirspitze.
At the top, you are rewarded with a far-reaching panorama. It is the direct line to the summit that makes the tour so rewarding: varied climbing up a classic Dolomites peak. A really beautiful tour for anyone who wants to get out into alpine terrain and is looking for a route with character.

PROGRAMME
Day 1: Demetz Route
We meet at the car park right on the Gardena Pass or alternatively in Klausen at the motorway junction. After a quick gear check, we head up to the start of our route on the Große Cirspitze. The 9 pitches fly by. The climbing on the Demetz Route is varied and interesting – all in all, a really beautiful route.
An impressive panorama awaits us on the summit – towards both Val Gardena and Val Badia, with some of the finest Dolomite faces in full view. The perfect place to pick out your next project and dream a little about the tours to come. We return to the Gardena Pass via the normal route, which includes a short via ferrata section.

Who is the Demetz Route suitable for?
The tour suits sure-footed mountaineers with climbing experience who feel at home in alpine terrain. The route is guided, so you don't have to do the route-finding yourself, but you should be able to move confidently and comfortably at this grade.
What is the descent like?
The descent follows the normal route back to the Gardena Pass. It includes a short via ferrata section that adds variety to the return without changing the character of the tour.
What should I bring on the tour?
Above all, you need suitable climbing shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. The detailed packing list comes with the confirmation email. Technical equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
