Climbing, playing, marvelling – at the Zans climbing crag a family day quickly turns into a little adventure for young and old.
Climbing and adventure for children and families: what could be better for children than happily climbing up easy rock and feeling proud of what they have achieved? We spend a thoroughly successful day for the whole family at the Zans climbing crag in Villnöß.
Whether it is the first climbing attempts for children and parents or the little ones are already keen climbers – the climbing crag at Zans has the right routes for everyone. The family-friendly rock at the foot of the Geislerspitzen offers exactly the setting in which you can try things out, climb and learn without any pressure.
After climbing, we build an adventurous zip line on which the bravest can venture over the edge from more than 20 metres up and glide down to the ground. Adventure, action and fun are clearly the focus of this offer – and by the end it is usually not only the children who are thrilled.

PROGRAMME
We meet in Villnöß and share out the necessary gear, harnesses and helmets, among the group. Then we hike together to the Zans climbing crag. Even the path along the stream up to the treeline beneath the north faces of the Geislerspitzen is an impressive experience.
But that is when our day really gets going: we set up a few routes on the rock for the children – and of course the parents too – to have a go at. Whether it is your first attempt at climbing or you already have some experience, everyone will find suitable lines here on the Dolomite rock. Once the hike and the climbing have made us hungry, we enjoy the picnic we have brought along out in nature.
Meanwhile, the mountain guides rig a short via ferrata leading to an adventurous zip line, which we build with the gear we have brought along. Who is the bravest and dares to be first to step over the edge from more than 20 metres up and ride the zip line down to the ground? As the day slowly draws to a close, we hike back to the car park – and the little ones will be talking about this day for a long time to come.
Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.

Is the climbing day suitable for beginners and children too?
Yes, that is exactly what this offer is designed for. At the Zans climbing crag there are easy routes that are ideal for a first taste of rock. Parents without much climbing experience can join in too if they fancy a day outdoors together.
What should we bring for the climbing day?
Above all, comfortable clothing, sturdy shoes and something to snack on. A detailed packing list comes with the confirmation email. Technical equipment such as a helmet or harness can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
How does the day at the climbing crag work?
We meet in Villnöß, walk to the rock together and spend the day there climbing, taking breaks and picnicking in nature. Later comes a little extra: a short adventure section with a zip line, which usually gets children especially excited.
