PROGRAM
Depending on the ice conditions, we will meet at a meeting point agreed upon during booking and head to our ice climbing area.
We'll begin with an overview of ice climbing, the necessary equipment, and the best way to climb on ice.
Afterward, we'll immediately get hands-on and practice various exercises at jumping height on proper climbing with crampons, body positioning, and using ice tools.
Once we're all warmed up, we'll move on to belaying techniques and what to pay particular attention to when ice climbing.
The final and most important part of the program will be ice climbing itself and belaying each other. We'll climb top rope to fully concentrate on ice climbing and get a feel for the ice tools, crampons, and the ice.
The goal is that at the end of the day everyone has had a proper go at ice climbing and knows what it entails, so that at the end of the day they can say whether they like this form of climbing and would like to learn more about it.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
