ABOUT THE TOUR
Pisciadu Via Ferrata (C): The Pisciadu Via Ferrata is the Dolomites' classic and probably the most popular via ferrata in the Dolomites. And there's good reason for this: without a long approach, the first cable-secured passages begin just above the parking lot. The scenery is breathtaking, the climbing challenging, but never particularly difficult despite the steepness of the wall through which the via ferrata runs. As if the beauty of the via ferrata weren't enough, it offers special highlights such as a spectacular suspension bridge, a beautifully situated and serviced hut at the exit with a stunning mountain lake in a fantastic Dolomite backdrop, and the opportunity to add a worthwhile summit goal to the Pisciadu peak. Even the descent through the Val Setus between imposing Dolomite walls is spectacular. Although a little longer, the second descent through the Mittagstal is almost even more beautiful. But no matter how you ultimately do this tour, from the start to the return to the car, it's an all-round successful, varied, and exciting day in an atmosphere that could hardly be more beautiful. A classic via ferrata, which is probably one of the most popular via ferratas in the world for good reason.

PROGRAM
At the parking lot on the Gardena Pass, we'll conduct a quick equipment check and distribute any necessary rental equipment.
After a short approach from the parking lot, we'll soon reach the first via ferrata sections on the entry wall. Here, we'll put on our climbing harnesses and helmets and assemble our via ferrata set. This entry wall features sections rated B in difficulty – ideal for warming up. Those who aren't yet feeling completely comfortable will be secured with the mountain guide's rope to ensure the via ferrata experience is enjoyable for everyone.
This is followed by a traverse to the left on a well-trodden path before entering the main section of the via ferrata shortly before the Pisciadu Waterfall. Spectacularly, always to the right of the waterfall, the climb continues up a steep rock face over the Exner Tower. On the steepest sections, which even have slight overhangs, iron pins facilitate progress. Spectacular views make the via ferrata an unforgettable experience.
Shortly before the exit, a suspension bridge leads over the gorge between the Exner and Bruneck towers. The last few meters of the via ferrata are no longer difficult, and shortly after the exit, we reach the beautifully situated Pisciadu Hut with the lake behind it.
After a well-deserved refreshment at the hut, we can either head directly back through the Val Setus to the parking lot (with another short section secured by ropes), or, if we still have the strength and energy, we can choose the descent through the Mittagtal valley.
The Pisciadu via ferrata is a great Dolomites classic for good reason and an absolute must for via ferrata enthusiasts, even if it has been somewhat slimmed down by the many ascents - in terms of scenery, it is and remains a delight without equal.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
