ABOUT THE TRIP

Kalymnos combines climbing and an island holiday in a way that is almost impossible to find anywhere else.
8 days

Kalymnos combines climbing with the flair of holiday and relaxation like hardly any other place. With over 4,000 routes in all grades, crystal-clear water, beautiful bays and an ideal climate, it offers everything a sport climber’s heart could wish for – all on just 110 km². This Greek island is perfect for a climbing holiday through and through.

The climbing areas are close together and can easily be reached by scooter. Brilliant rock with tufa routes and perfect protection awaits us. It is no coincidence that Kalymnos is so popular in the climbing scene, and everyone who has been to the island once raves about it. A climbing trip you really should not miss.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival on Kalymnos
We travel individually to Kos, the Greek island directly south of Kalymnos. From May to October there are often reasonably priced charter flights, and during the rest of the season scheduled flights with a stopover in Athens. We meet at Kos Airport and coordinate our flight times together. We are happy to help with finding and booking flights. From the airport we travel together to Mastichari and take the ferry from there to Kalymnos. From the harbour we continue straight to our accommodation. We use our first evening on the island over dinner together to get to know the participants’ wishes and put together a suitable programme for the coming days on a very individual basis.

Day 2–7: Climbing and island time
Over the next few days, based on the programme we put together on the first evening, we visit various climbing areas and work on climbing technique. In addition to the daily climbing sessions, once our strength starts to fade and nothing more works on the rock, we also devote time to the island itself. Excursions, a stroll through town or simply relaxing in one of the bays – the options are varied. We round off the evenings with dinner together, either self-cooked or relaxed in a restaurant.

Day 8: Departure
On the last day of our stay on Kalymnos, it is unfortunately already time to leave again. Probably with very little skin left on our fingers, but with more finger strength, better technique and a bit more pull in our arms, we begin the journey home tired but very happy. A fantastic climbing week that perfectly combined climbing with a holiday on a Greek island comes to an end. What remains are many strong impressions and plenty of motivation to test the new climbing level straight away on your own projects back home.

Sounds good, but not perfect?

No problem: This is just an idea of how the program for trip could look like. The duration can be extended or shortened as desired. I would be happy to put together a customized itinerary for you or a group, tailored entirely to your ideas and wishes.

Simply send us a non-binding inquiry using the form above.

Any changes to the travel program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
