Fortunately, Oman has not yet been discovered by the masses as a travel destination. But that is probably only a matter of time. A country with so much to offer – from an impressive culture to landscapes you will not forget in a hurry – in short, everything it takes to make a perfect holiday destination.
Even better, though: Oman offers the most brilliant climbing. In recent years, countless climbing areas have been developed and crags with excellent bolting have been set up in the most beautiful places. And the potential is still far from exhausted. Compared with its possibilities, the country is still in its infancy.
What awaits us here is a desert sultanate that can hardly be put into words. Between wadis, the coast and the rock of the Hajar Mountains, a trip takes shape that quite naturally combines climbing, discovery and wonder.

PROGRAMME
Day 1: Arrival in Muscat and drive to Hadasch
We meet in Muscat directly at the airport. There we pick up a 4x4 rent car and do some shopping in the city so that we are well stocked for the days ahead. We spend the first night in Muscat, then head straight on into the Hajar Mountains, where we will sleep in tents for the next few days – at beautiful spots right by the climbing areas. Our first stop will be Hadasch.
Days 2-9: Climbing and exploring Oman
Over the next few days, we stop at a wide variety of places all across Oman. Wonderful sport climbing areas with excellent rock quality, impressive wadis with crystal-clear water and a desert safari are all on the programme. To round things off, we make a trip to the sea. There, not only great deep-water solo spots await us, but also truly beautiful beaches along the Omani coast.
Of course, a visit to the Arab markets in Muscat is a must too. All in all, these days in Oman will fly by. Countless impressions and experiences from very different corners of the country come together – along with the incredible hospitality of the Omanis.
Day 10: Departure
After ten days, we will have fallen in love with this country, its people and its rock. We take many powerful memories of Oman home with us. All I know is that on my first trip to Oman, everything I experienced and saw there far exceeded my expectations.

Who is this climbing trip to Oman suitable for?
The trip is aimed at climbers who are keen on varied days combining sport climbing, deep-water soloing and exploring Oman. As the destinations are chosen flexibly, the week can easily be adapted to the group and to the conditions.
What is the accommodation like during the trip?
We spend the first night in Muscat. After that, in the Hajar Mountains and at other beautiful spots, we mostly stay in tents – right next to the climbing areas and in the middle of a landscape that suits this trip perfectly.
What equipment do I need to bring?
You will receive the detailed packing list with your confirmation email. Above all, you need your personal items such as climbing shoes and clothing for warm days. Technical equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
