ABOUT THE TRIP

When Europe turns grey, wet and miserable, Sicily is exactly the right place for rock, sun and sea.
8 days · Sicily

As it becomes too cold in many parts of Europe and rainy, unpleasant late-autumn days set in, the ideal moment has come to escape those grey days. Best of all to Sicily. Even in November, conditions here are still ideal for sport climbing.

The crowds seen here in high season have long since disappeared, and a relaxed calm settles over San Vito lo Capo, the island’s sport climbing hotspot. Sunsets, climbing right by the sea and Sicilian hospitality are the ideal ingredients for a top-class climbing holiday. Added to that is the freedom to shape the days entirely according to your mood, the weather and your goals – sometimes with plenty of time on the rock, sometimes with a quiet afternoon on the beach.

HIGHLIGHTS

✧ Excellent sport climbing sectors around San Vito lo Capo

✧ Climbing right by the sea – that is exactly what makes Sicily so appealing

✧ A holiday in warming sunshine instead of grey skies at home

Sicilian joie de vivre and hospitality are simply part of the experience here

✧ A climbing trip where rock, sea, good food and relaxed days fit pleasantly together

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival
We meet directly at the airport in Palermo. We coordinate the flights together, then pick up a hire car and continue on to San Vito lo Capo. There we settle into our accommodation and, over dinner together, put together a well-balanced plan for the week – entirely according to your goals, wishes and of course the conditions on the ground. That way, we begin not with a rigid plan, but with a week that can adapt well to the group.

Day 2-7: Climbing and holiday
The next few days are all about the excellent climbing opportunities around San Vito lo Capo. Depending on mood, weather and route choice, we spend several hours on the rock and make the most of the variety of sectors. Along the way, there are plenty of practical technique tips, and usually it soon becomes clear that your climbing is improving noticeably. At the same time, the holiday aspect should not be neglected either: relaxed hours on the beach, a leisurely stroll through the town and long evenings with Sicilian cuisine are all part of it as well. And yes – the sunsets here almost provide the perfect end to the day all by themselves.

Day 8: Departure
After seven days in Sicily, departure day has already come around again. After intensive climbing days and many hours on the rock, we begin our journey home – ideally with better technique, a little more finger strength and, above all, plenty of motivation to try out your newly gained skills straight away in your local climbing areas and indoor walls.
