ABOUT THE TRIP

Verdon - Climbing Trip: The Verdon Gorge in the south of France is one of the best climbing areas in Europe. Since the 1970s, climbing history has been written in one of Europe's largest canyons, with a length of 21 kilometers and a depth of up to 700 meters. Excellent rock quality and the unique fact that many routes first involve abseiling into the gorge from the top and then climbing back up make this gem among the climbing areas in the heart of Provence so special. Often, there is no way out. The only way back leads up. Therefore, you should be able to climb the required difficulty level if you want to immerse yourself in the Verdon adventure. But there are also many wonderful routes with a less serious character that are also ideal for beginners and recreational climbers, where you can still experience and enjoy the very special flair of Verdon, the breathtaking beauty of the gorge, and the culinary highlights of southern France.

HIGHLIGHTS

- One of Europe's most spectacular and beautiful canyons as a backdrop

- Rock-solid limestone with fantastic climbing routes

- Not surprisingly, one of Europe's best climbing areas, with a selection of routes that few others can offer

- Culinary delights and joie de vivre, as well as southern French flair

- First abseiling down the route and then climbing back up. An adrenaline rush that's unique in climbing.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival in Verdon
The first day is all about traveling to the South of France, where we'll check into our accommodation after arriving. In the evening, we'll indulge our ideas and plans for the upcoming climbing days over dinner together and put together a fantastic program.

Days 2-4: Climbing in and around the Verdon Gorge
The next three days are entirely dedicated to our climbing goals. Whether it's sport climbing, easy multi-pitch climbing, or classic self-belaying trad routes and alpine climbing routes, the Verdon Gorge offers a wealth of tours. There's something for every climbing level and skill level. We won't miss the experience of abseiling from the top of the gorge either. We'll end the evenings with French wine and delicious food.

Day 5: Departure
After four days on the rough Verdon limestone, our hands and fingertips would need a rest day anyway. We'll take this opportunity to say goodbye to Verdon, probably with the promise to return soon.
