Abruzzo – ski touring trip: perfect spring snow, pleasant temperatures, plus Italian hospitality and outstanding cuisine in the Abruzzo. A ski touring week for connoisseurs, with beautiful tours and unique summits in the Majella group as well as around the Gran Sasso, home to the southernmost glacier in Europe.
Ski tours of all difficulty levels and on a wide variety of slope angles await us. High up in the mountains of the Abruzzo, it is still deep winter, while spring has long since arrived in the valleys below. That is exactly what makes this trip so special: spring snow under your skis in the morning, good food in the evening, and that relaxed Italian atmosphere that makes you want to come straight back.
We will be touring in two outstanding areas which, in good spring snow conditions, offer remarkable variety – from enjoyable slopes to striking summit objectives. This makes for a varied week without losing its character: plenty of ski touring, plenty of scenery, and a wonderful mix of movement, enjoyment, and southern alpine winter.

- Fitness for ascents of 1,200 to 1,500 meters in altitude
- Skiing on the slopes (parallel turns) should be no problem, allowing you to manage reasonably well in deep snow.

PROGRAM
Tag 1–4: Anreise und Skitouren in der Majellagruppe
Wir treffen uns auf dem Parkplatz bei der Autobahnausfahrt in Klausen oder an einem individuell vereinbarten Treffpunkt und fahren gemeinsam in die Abruzzen. Zunächst werden wir uns in der Majellagruppe austoben, wo es wunderbare Firnhänge sowie starke Firnrinnen gibt. Mögliche Gipfelziele sind dabei der Monte Amaro, Pesco di Falcone, Monte Rapina und viele weitere lohnende Ziele. Welche Tour wir an welchem Tag angehen, wählen wir passend zu Wetter, Schneelage und Gruppe – so bleibt die Woche flexibel und wir können das Beste aus den Bedingungen herausholen.

Tag 5–7: Skitouren im Gran Sasso Massiv
Nach der letzten Skitour in der Majellagruppe wechseln wir in das Gran Sasso Massiv. Auch hier haben wir wieder jede Menge Möglichkeiten, die wir je nach Wetter, Schneelage und technischen Anforderungen auswählen werden. Als Highlight und mit etwas Wetterglück wartet der Corno Grande auf uns – der höchste Gipfel des Apennin; an seinen Flanken liegt der Ghiacciaio del Calderone, der südlichste Gletscher Italiens. Weitere mögliche Gipfelziele sind die Cima Camicia oder der Monte Prena.
