Abruzzo - Ski Touring Trip: Perfect firn snow, pleasant temperatures, and Italian hospitality and culinary delights in Abruzzo. A ski touring week for connoisseurs with fantastic ski tours and unique peaks in the Majella Group and around the Gran Sasso, home to Europe's southernmost glacier. Ski tours of all levels of difficulty and varying steepness await us. Up in the mountains of Abruzzo, it's still the depths of winter, while down in the valleys, spring has long since arrived.

- Fitness for ascents of 1,200 to 1,500 meters in altitude

- Skiing on the slopes (parallel turns) should be no problem, allowing you to manage reasonably well in deep snow.

PROGRAM

Days 1-4: Arrival and ski touring in the Majella Group
We meet at the parking lot near the motorway exit in Chiusa or at an individually agreed meeting point and drive together to Abruzzo.

First, we'll explore the Majella Group, where wonderful snow slopes and breathtaking snow gullies await. Possible summit destinations include Monte Amaro, Pesco di Falcone, Monte Rapina, and many other worthwhile destinations.

Days 5-7: Ski touring in the Gran Sasso Massif
After the last ski tour in the Majella Group, we'll move on to the Gran Sasso Massif. Here, too, we have plenty of options, which we'll choose depending on the weather, snow conditions, and technical requirements. The highlight, and with a bit of luck, is the Corno Grande. The highest peak in the Apennines, and on its flanks, the Ghiacciaio del Calderone, Italy's southernmost glacier. Other possible summit destinations include Cima Camicia or Monte Prena.

A wonderful week of ski touring with countless touring highlights and a cozy atmosphere of Italian hospitality and cuisine. The perfect ingredients for a fantastic ski touring trip.
