In the rustic, wonderfully unspoilt Val Maira, gentle ski slopes, quiet summit objectives and a week of ski touring far from lifts and mass tourism await.

Val Maira in Piedmont is a true gem for ski tourers. Ideal ski terrain with gentle slopes, backed by steeply rising rock pinnacles standing guard, characterises this unique valley far from lifts and mass tourism.
Alongside countless touring options another highlight awaits us: the excellent Occitan cuisine of Manuela and Renato. They will give us a warm welcome at their lodge, the Locanda Mistral.
Every evening, a 5-course menu made from top-quality local produce, together with a well-stocked wine cellar, awaits us. A week of ski touring that will surely remain in our memories for a long time, both athletically and culinarily.

- Climbs of 800 - 1,400 meters (3-4 hours)
- Skiing on the slopes (parallel turns) should be no problem, allowing you to manage even in deep snow.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Journey to Piedmont
We travel from South Tyrol and Switzerland to Valle Maira and meet at our accommodation, the Locanda Mistral. Here we are welcomed by the mountain guides. We will spend the rest of the evening getting to know one another and enjoying our first culinary treat from Renato and his family.
Days 2–6: Ski tours in Valle Maira
The coming days are entirely dedicated to ski touring in Valle Maira. From easy and short outings for beginners to long and demanding tours, the valley offers us numerous possibilities. The choice of tours will be tailored individually to the group.
After our tours, there is plenty of time to relax at our accommodation before true delights from the regional cuisine await us each evening as part of a 5-course menu.
Walking time: 4–6 hrs | ↑ 800–1,400 m ascent | ↓ 800–1,400 m descent (guideline per day)
Day 7: Departure
After a week filled, hopefully, with countless wonderful and lasting impressions, it is time to say goodbye to this valley. But who knows whether one or two of us may not discover Valle Maira for themselves and soon return here again.

The week is intentionally designed to be flexible: from easier, shorter tours to longer and more demanding outings, a great deal is possible. What matters are solid ski technique, fitness for several days in the mountains, and enjoyment of guided ski tours. The daily choice will be adapted to the group.
How is the choice of tours decided during the week?
The tours are decided on site together with the mountain guides, based on conditions, snow conditions and the group. That is one of the great advantages of this trip in Valle Maira: each day we can decide flexibly which tour suits best.
What equipment do I need for the trip?
The detailed packing list will be sent with the confirmation email. Naturally, your ski touring equipment and avalanche transceiver kit are essential. Missing equipment can be hired from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
