Sellaronda ski safari – ski guiding: the Sellaronda is a highlight for skiers in the Dolomites. It leads through a spectacular landscape around the Sella massif, passing through 3 different ski regions of the Dolomiti Superski area, which, with 1,200 kilometres of pistes, is one of the largest interconnected ski areas on earth.
A detour to the Marmolada, the highest summit in the Dolomites, is also well worth it on this circuit. Enjoy a fantastic day on perfectly groomed pistes without having to find your own way around this huge ski area. We take care of all the planning and also see to a delicious lunch at one of the many huts.
Interesting fact: even before roads and lifts were built, locals circled the massif on skis via the four passes. Continuous lift access in both directions was then completed in the 1970s. Today you ski through the geographical heart of Ladinia, where Ladin is still spoken to this day.

PROGRAMME
Day 1: Around the Sella
There are several starting points for the Sellaronda. When you enquire, we will be happy to agree on the most suitable one, depending on where you are staying. The circuit can be skied in two directions: clockwise or anticlockwise. Both are well worth it, and each uses different pistes and different lifts.
The route runs past the Langkofel, the Sella massif, Sas Pordoi and the Marmolada. With fast skiers we also have the option of a detour on the Sellaronda up to the summit of the Queen of the Dolomites. Depending on how busy the pistes are and on our progress, the mountain guide decides whether there is enough time. Further highlights right next to the pistes are the Sassongher and the Cir peaks. Impressive Dolomite summits such as the Civetta, Tofana, Antelao and Heiligkreuzkofel also keep appearing from new perspectives.
At lunchtime we stop at one of the many restaurants and treat ourselves. Here too there are some culinary highlights you would hardly expect in these rustic huts. The whole circuit is about 40 kilometres long. Half of this distance is covered by lift and half on the pistes. Depending on how busy it is, you should allow 4 to 5 hours, not including breaks.

Info: The Sellaronda can be extended with additional beautiful pistes that are left out of the classic circuit. Our mountain guides keep planning ahead depending on how busy it is, skiing ability and energy reserves. With fast skiers a detour to the Marmolada is also possible. Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
Is the Sellaronda also suitable for regular piste skiers?
Yes. The circuit is rated intermediate (ski piste) and is aimed at skiers who can ski confidently on red and blue pistes for a whole day. You do not need any freeride experience. What matters is that you ski fluently, so that we can complete the circuit at a relaxed pace.
Can you also ski the Marmolada on the Sellaronda?
Yes, with fast skiers a detour to the Marmolada is possible. Whether there is enough time depends on how busy the pistes are and on our progress. The mountain guide decides on the way. If it works out, it is a superb extension of the circuit.
What do I need to bring for the Sellaronda?
You need your normal ski equipment for a day on the pistes, above all skis, ski boots and suitable clothing. You will receive the exact packing list with your confirmation email. If you are missing anything, you can rent equipment from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
