South Tyrol (and indeed the entire Eastern Alps) has many high summits and glaciers above 3,000 metres to offer. Choosing the right tour can be tricky. Trust our local mountain guides, and we will pick the ideal tour for your requirements and physical fitness.
For many ski tourers, spring is the best time to enjoy their favourite sport. The snow cover and, above all, the base are good, the avalanche danger is practically nil with good timing, and the rush on the snowy mountains has eased considerably. It is also the time to tackle the big summit objectives.
If you bring the motivation to set off early and, on top of that, the fitness to manage the long ascents, you will be rewarded with a unique experience. With a bit of luck, we will glide almost effortlessly back down to the valley in dreamy corn snow conditions.

PROGRAMME
Day tour: individual ski mountaineering tour
Depending on the tour chosen, we arrange a meeting point and usually an early time to start our ski mountaineering tour. After a quick equipment check, we begin our ascent by the light of our head torches or at first light. Along the way we are treated to a beautiful sunrise, and the early start is long forgotten as soon as the sun bathes the snow-covered mountains in golden light. The ever-changing play of light and colour as the day breaks makes the time on the ascent fly by, and we quickly gain height. On the summit we enjoy a panorama that only the high peaks can offer. Hardly any higher mountains block the view to the horizon, across thousands of summits and new objectives. In favourable conditions and with the right timing, we enjoy dreamy corn snow descents and glide almost effortlessly back down to the valley, where a cool drink awaits us on a sunny terrace somewhere.
Any changes to the programme that may become necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, availability of accommodation, etc.) are always made in consultation with the participants.

The best time is spring: good snow cover, often a stable base and, with good timing, beautiful corn snow conditions. On top of that, many of the big summit objectives are particularly appealing at this time.
What equipment do I need to bring?
For a ski mountaineering tour you will of course need your ski touring equipment, for example touring skis and ski crampons depending on the objective. The detailed packing list comes with the confirmation email. Any missing equipment can be borrowed from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
