ABOUT THE TOUR
Sport climbing in the Dolomites – rough rock, good lines, and exactly the kind of climbing day that makes you want to reach straight for the chalk bag.
1 day · Dolomites
Sport climbing in the Dolomites: they are the mecca of climbing in the Alps. Every climber gets sweaty hands and wants to reach straight into the chalk bag at the mere mention of the Dolomites.
But what is it that makes climbing on this very special type of rock, dolomite, so fascinating? Is it the incredibly steep walls that still allow for wonderful sequences of holds, the athletic and varied climbing, or the technical and compact slabs that demand a wide range of movement?
There’s only one way to find out: try it for yourself! And that is exactly what makes a day on the rock here so exciting. Depending on the area, your mood, and your ability, very different styles of climbing await you – sometimes powerful, sometimes technical, sometimes with footholds you only truly appreciate at second glance. And that is exactly where the appeal of dolomite rock lies: it challenges, surprises, and very quickly leaves you wanting more.

PROGRAM
Climbing day on the rock
At the car park, we will briefly check the equipment and then head to the crags! Depending on the participants’ level of experience, there will be a short introduction to rock climbing, the different belay methods, and everything that needs to be covered for the safe practice of the sport.
After that, it’s into the vertical walls. We will start with easier routes so that we can warm up properly and not burn all our energy on the first climbs already. As the day goes on, we will keep building up and climbing until we can no longer hold even the biggest jugs.
In between, there will always be tips and suggestions for improvement, so that this climbing day is not only enjoyable but also a valuable day full of new information. That way, you won’t just collect climbed metres, but also gain a better feel for movement, footwork, and rhythm on the rock. Depending on the group and ability level, we adapt the day flexibly so that the climbing is challenging, but above all fun.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS - (FAQs)
Who is this climbing day suitable for?
The day is suitable for beginners and advanced climbers. Depending on your previous experience, there will be a short introduction or we will get going straight away in a more sporty style. The area and routes are chosen so that the climbing day matches your ability and you really get the most out of your time in the Dolomites.
What equipment do I need to bring?
For the day, you mainly need suitable climbing shoes and comfortable clothing. The detailed packing list will come with the confirmation email. Missing equipment can be hired from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
Will the climbing day be tailored to my level?
Yes, that is exactly the idea behind this tour. We start at a level that suits your current ability, choose suitable routes, and build things up over the course of the day if it fits. That way, the day is neither too easy nor unnecessarily intense, but simply a good day on the rock.
