Villnösser Geisler - Alpine climbing: Climbing on the Villnösser Geisler usually takes place far from the crowds. Although you climb here all day in pleasant sunshine, it is rarely busy.
Beautiful routes lead enjoyably up Kleine Fermeda or Große Fermeda, Odla de Cisles or Sas de Mesdi. Depending on the tour and route choice, this becomes either a more relaxed climbing day or a truly fine alpine outing with a long approach, airy climbing and a descent that demands concentration once again.
That is precisely what makes this place so appealing: nice rock, beautiful scenery and often the feeling of having found a quiet corner of the Dolomites. Let yourself be surprised by a route that suits your abilities and feels like a real day in the mountains.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Climbing day in the Geisler
We meet at the valley station of the Col Raiser cable car in St. Christina and take a comfortable ride up to the mountain station. The south side of the Villnösser Geisler is already in view, and across beautiful alpine meadows we make our way to the starting point of our route.
There are countless options here for climbing one of the many towers. Every single one is an adventure in itself. Whether we end up climbing on Kleine Fermeda, Große Fermeda, Odla de Cisles or Sas de Mesdi: a climbing adventure on a wild and original Dolomite wall is almost guaranteed here.
The best part is that the walls face south, and in good weather you can climb here in a T-shirt almost all year round. The descents are complex and still require our full attention. But that is part of the experience here and rounds off a long, full climbing day in the Geisler at the end.
Info: Without the cable car, the approach is extended by approx. 1.5 h and 600 vertical metres.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.

What should I already be able to do for alpine climbing on the Villnösser Geisler?
You should already have climbing experience and feel comfortable in alpine terrain. Which route makes sense depends greatly on your ability. We choose the tour so that it suits you and makes for a well-rounded day on the Villnösser Geisler.
What do I need to bring for the tour?
Most important are mountain boots and suitable climbing clothing. You will receive the exact packing list with the confirmation email. Technical equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
Can the route be chosen at short notice depending on conditions?
Yes, that is often the great advantage here. Depending on the weather, the conditions and your level, we decide on site which line on Kleine Fermeda, Große Fermeda, Odla de Cisles or Sas de Mesdi fits best.
