PROGRAM
Day 1: Niederdorf - Prato Piazza
We start in Niederdorf and hike through the Putzgraben past the Putzalm pasture and continue to the Sarlsattel (2,229 m). We have to overcome two more saddles, the Flodiger Sattel (2,166 m) and the Kirchler Scharte, on our way to the first accommodation. Our route takes us past the Dürrenstein to the Prato Piazza (2,000 m).
6.5 hours – ↑ 1,450 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 600 meters of elevation loss – 14 km
Day 2: Prato Piazza - Rifugio Bosi
The second stage is the most demanding in terms of fitness. We have to overcome 1,500 meters of ascent and 1,300 meters of descent. This all covers a distance of 16 kilometers, which first takes us through the Helltal valley down to Landr and then to Monte Piano on the opposite side. Soon after, we reach our destination for the day, the Rifugio Bosi (2,205 m).
7 hours – ↑ 1,500 m elevation gain – ↓ 1,300 m elevation gain – 16 km
Day 3: Rifugio Bosi - Rifugio Vandelli
From the hut, we descend to the road and through the Val Popena Alta to the Popena Saddle (2,214 m). Beyond this, we reach the Passo Tre Croci and follow trail 215 to the Rifugio Vandelli (1,928 m elevation gain) – right next to the picturesque Lake Sorapis.
6.5 hours – ↑ 1,150 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 1,400 meters of elevation gain – 17.5 km
Day 4: Rifugio Vandelli - Rifugio San Marco
On the fourth day, the most technically demanding stage follows, through the heart of the Sorapiss massif: past the lake, we ascend to the Forcella Sora la Cengia del Banco. The terrain becomes more difficult, and we ascend the Sentiero Francesco Berti (C) via ferrata – a via ferrata set and helmet are required here – to the Forcella del Bivacco. Past the Slataper Bivacco, we follow trail 246 to the Rifugio San Marco (1,823 m).
7.5 hours – ↑ 1300 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 1350 meters of elevation gain – 9.5 km
Day 5: Rifugio San Marco - San Vito di Cadore
On the final day, our stage takes us from the Rifugio San Marco down to San Vito di Cadore. A taxi will pick us up there and take us back to our cars in Niederdorf.
2 hours – ↓ 800 meters of elevation gain – 3 km
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
