ABOUT THE TOUR

Zinne di Cima di Dibona: For many alpine climbers, the Dolomites are an absolute dream destination and a climbing area that inspires both great respect and fascination. Every ambitious climber dreams of climbing in the Dolomites at least once in their life. A region with a unique landscape, it boasts a seemingly endless number of climbing routes, brimming with alpine climbing history. But one route stands out in particular: the Dibona Edge on the Zinne di Cima ... Considering how many rope teams with state-of-the-art equipment still regularly reach their limits on this route today (primarily due to route finding and the required morale and initiative of the leader when installing mobile protection points), this is a remarkable achievement.

It is a truly special experience to climb in the footsteps of these pioneers along the logical lines of such great Dolomite walls. Especially on the Three Peaks and the Dibona Edge, at a constant and, for most climbers, enjoyable grade IV difficulty. Climbing higher pitch by pitch, enjoying the breathtaking views from the belay stations, and soaking up the wonderful Dolomite panorama all around. Occasionally, glimpsing the North Face of the Zinnen and, at the end of the route, reaching one of the most iconic peaks in the entire Dolomites.

The Dibona Edge on the Great Peak is quite rightly considered one of the greatest classics in the Dolomites.

PROGRAM

We'll meet in Landro (exact time and location to be agreed upon) and head together to the Auronzo Hut.

At the parking lot, we'll do a quick gear check and then head toward the starting point.

Passing the south faces of the Zinnen, we'll reach the Patern Saddle, from where we'll see the impressive north faces of the Three Peaks for the first time.

We'll cross the gravel field to the start of the Dibona Crest. Here, we'll put on our harnesses and prepare for 18 exciting pitches of varied and truly enjoyable climbing. It's no coincidence that the Dibona Crest is considered one of the great classics of alpine climbing in the Dolomites. It's one of many routes on the Three Peaks where alpine climbing history was written and where the limits of what was thought possible have been repeatedly pushed.

Reaching the summit, a breathtaking panorama awaits us in the midst of the Sexten Dolomites. Even within these impressive mountains, another outstanding Dolomite region. Afterwards, the challenging descent via the normal route demands our full attention once again. Challenging pathfinding and several, sometimes spectacular, abseils (including 60 meters in one go) ensure that there's no boredom on the way back to the parking lot.

Back at the Auronzo Hut, we're enriched by an indescribable experience and can proudly look back on a very special climbing route in the Dolomites.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
