Kleine Zinne - North Face Innerkofler: the classic route up the Kleine Zinne. Quieter and hardly more difficult than the normal route, this tour offers a steep experience on the Zinnen.
That is exactly what makes this route so appealing: you are climbing a famous mountain, but not on the usual line. The Innerkofler route combines classic character with beautiful, logical climbing and a magnificent setting in the Sexten Dolomites. If you are looking for a historic route with an alpine atmosphere, this is the one for you.
The approach from the Auronzohütte is short, the climbing varied, and the switch to the north side gives the tour a character all of its own. At the end you have not just a summit, but a complete alpine line on one of the best-known mountains in the Dolomites.

PROGRAMME
Day tour: Innerkofler on the Kleine Zinne
We meet in Landro (we'll arrange the exact time and place) and drive together to the Auronzohütte. At the car park we do a quick gear check and then set off towards the start of the route. Passing the south faces of the Westliche Zinne and the Große Zinne, we reach the start of our route on the south side of the Kleine Zinne.
We first climb on the south side, then switch to the north side of the Kleine Zinne for the last few pitches. It is precisely this switch that makes the tour so special, as the character of the route changes once more along the way. On the summit, a perfectly equipped abseil route awaits, bringing us back to the foot of the face in no time.
Back at the car park we can celebrate our ascent – indeed, our traverse – of the most demanding of the Drei Zinnen.

Who is the Innerkofler route on the Kleine Zinne suitable for?
The tour is suitable for sure-footed mountaineers with good rock climbing experience. You should feel comfortable in alpine terrain and be able to keep going for around 6 h. The route is guided, so you don't have to do any route-finding yourself.
What do I need to bring for the tour?
Above all, you need suitable climbing shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. You will receive the detailed packing list with your confirmation email. Technical equipment can be rented from Südtirolalpin for a small wear-and-tear fee.
How does the descent from the Kleine Zinne work?
We descend via the equipped abseil route back to the foot of the face. From there we walk back to the Auronzohütte.
