PROGRAM
Day 1: At the Sport Climbing Garden
Content:
Belays, procedures, rope and belay techniques, knot tying, placing mobile belay devices, installing hooks, equipment knowledge
Procedure:
We will spend the entire day at a climbing garden, working intensively on the basics, especially on the ground, so that we are ready for our first alpine climbing tour on the second day. After a brief introduction and equipment knowledge, we will focus on belay construction and the installation of mobile belay devices. Two fundamental topics for safe alpine climbing, especially in the Dolomites, where a lot of initiative is often required. We will examine and practice all the necessary knots, as well as the procedure for multi-pitch routes and see and practice valuable tips and tricks for the procedure at the belay station.
Day 2: Alpine Multi-Pitch Tour
Content: Application of the learning content from Day 1, reading topos, safe abseiling, alpine hazards
Procedure:
After a very intensive first day at the climbing garden, we will attempt our first alpine climbing route. The route will be individually tailored to the group and selected based on the first day. Along the way, we'll implement and further consolidate everything we learned on Day 1. We'll also look at safe abseiling and learn how to read topos correctly and maximize the information. Along the way, I'll also point out alpine hazards and how to best avoid emergency situations in the first place.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
