ABOUT THE TRAINING
Drytool Workshop: The term drytooling refers to a special type of climbing that, while not as popular, is all the more exciting for it. It involves climbing with ice tools on dry rock. On the one hand, it is often used by ambitious ice climbers to prepare for the upcoming ice climbing season, and on the other, it has now developed into a small niche climbing style. The ice tools are precisely placed at hooks and holes, and the climbers ascend either with crampons or climbing shoes. The climbing takes place in specially designated drytool crags, where the so-called "placements" for the ice tools are often marked. Climbing with ice tools is discouraged in traditional crags, as the high-carbon steel blades of ice axes naturally leave marks on the rock. Since climbing often involves quite steep terrain, this form of climbing is particularly well-suited for building and training strength and body tension. But basically, it's just great fun to climb on rock with ice tools and try out this special form of climbing!

PROGRAM
We'll meet at the agreed meeting point and head out together to one of the dry-tooling crags. Once we arrive at the crag, we'll first familiarize ourselves with the equipment and share some general tips and information.
Top-roping will familiarize us with the very specific dry-tooling technique on easy routes and then work our way up to more difficult routes as the day progresses.
The mountain guide will give you tips on climbing technique and suggestions for improvement throughout the day! Above all, the focus is on trying things out for yourself and having fun on the rock in this special form of climbing. So, as little theory as possible and as much practice as possible!
By the end of the day, you might have tried out a new sport, which can be a lot of fun, especially on days when it's too cold or wet to climb on rock, or especially during the transition period from fall to winter, and at the same time, it'll give you a good workout for your upcoming climbing projects! ;)
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
