PROGRAM
We have two options for reaching the Tierser Alpl refuge: from the Seiser Alm or from St. Cyprian. Both are relatively long approaches, taking at least 2.5 to 3 hours.
From the hut, we reach the start of the via ferrata in just under an hour, where we'll put on our gear. First, we reach the Molignon Ridge, which is still quite easy (A, I). Initially, the ridge is still relatively wide (and not secured by ropes), and we reach the summit of the northwestern Molignon.
The ridge now narrows again, with a steady climb and descent until the first difficult via ferrata sections soon follow. From here, the difficulty increases significantly. The absolute crux of the route is found at the very end of the via ferrata and must be mastered on the descent. Once we've mastered this section, we'll soon reach the beautiful Lake Antermoia (with a small detour) and the Antermoia Hut.
If we're on a day trip, however, the day is far from over. A counter-climb leads back up to the Antermoiascharte Pass, past the Grasleitenpass Hut, and then a very long descent through the Tschamintal Valley back to St. Cyprian.
*Tip: This tour is ideally suited as a two-day hike. The Maximilian Via Ferrata is a good introductory tour, as both via ferratas start at the Tierser Alpl, and the Maximilian Via Ferrata, which is also exposed and partly unsecured – but significantly easier and shorter – will show us whether we're up to the Laurenzi Via Ferrata. The tour will still be long and challenging enough from the Tierser Alpl – don't worry! ;)
...if two days aren't enough and you'd like to spend several days in the Catinaccio, there are still several options for traversing this wonderful rock massif on via ferratas and staying overnight in wonderful huts. We can even combine and incorporate peaks that would otherwise be inaccessible (via via ferrata) (Rosengartenspitze, Vajolet Towers, etc.) into a fantastic week of touring – guaranteed to be unforgettable days.
Important: Due to some of the small huts and the high demand, it's essential to book early to ensure we can still get accommodation!
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
