PROGRAM

Day 1: Hochmuth – Giggelberg
We meet in the morning in Dorf Tirol, at the valley station of the Hochmuth cable car. After checking our equipment and purchasing our lift tickets, we take the cable car to the Muthöfen farms. This is where our 6-day hike through the Texel Group begins. The first stage takes us past several beautifully situated alpine huts that invite you to stop for a break, all the way to Giggelberg.
6.5 hours – ↑ 750 meters in altitude – ↓ 550 meters in altitude - 13.5 km

Day 2: Giggelberg – Katharinaberg
On the second day, we continue above Partschins along the southern flanks of the Zielspitze to Katharinaberg. Once again, there are beautiful huts along our route where we will fortify ourselves, making the stage to the entrance of the Schnalstal valley not only a beautiful hike but also an enjoyable experience.
6.5 hours – ↑ 650 meters elevation gain – ↓ 900 meters elevation gain - 13.5 km

Day 3: Katharinaberg – Eishof
Day 3 through the Taxel Group takes us to the Pfossental Valley. We start in Katharinaberg and hike north. Soon we find ourselves above the valley entrance to the rustic Pfossental Valley. In the afternoon, we will reach today's destination, the Eishof. It is the shortest stage of our circular hike.
5.5 hours – ↑ 900 meters elevation gain – ↓ 120 meters elevation gain - 12.5 km

Day 4: Eishof – Pfelders
Today we will venture even deeper into the Pfossental Valley. At the end of the valley, the climb to the Stettiner Hut is somewhat steeper and more strenuous. It was badly damaged by an avalanche in 2014 but is now open to visitors again. It is located right at the crossing to Pfelders, our destination for today. Before we reach it, however, we face a longer descent to Lazins and then further through the valley to the car-free village, where we will find our next accommodation.
6.5 hours – ↑ 850 meters elevation gain – ↓ 1300 meters elevation gain - 16.5 km

Day 5: Pfelders – Matatz
On the fifth day, we continue out of Pfelders. At the small village of Außerhütt, we continue through the Herrenwald forest until we reach the Passeier Valley. Our destination is the scattered settlement of Matatz above San Martino in Passiria.
6.5 hours – ↑ 300 meters elevation gain – ↓ 900 meters elevation gain - 17.5 km

Day 6: Matatz – Tirolo
From the scattered settlement of Matatz, today's and final stage of the Merano High Trail leads along the eastern border of the Texel Group to the Longfall Hut. From the Langfall Hut, we descend through the Spronsertal Valley to Tirolo, where the Merano High Alpine Trail closes its circle at the valley station of the Hochmuth cable car.
7 hours – ↑ 800 meters of elevation gain – ↓ 1200 meters of elevation gain - 18 km

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
