ABOUT THE TOUR

Monte Rosa: A total of seven four-thousand-meter peaks in just three days, plus an overnight stay at the highest mountain hut in the Alps. This is only possible in the Monte Rosa massif, where one high peak follows the next. The starting point for this tour is the village of Stafal at the head of the Gressoney Valley. From here, we'll take a leisurely cable car up to 3,200 meters and climb the remaining 400 meters to the Rifugio Gnifetti. After a hopefully restful night at an altitude of 3,647 meters, we'll begin our summit collection on the second day. We'll visit Ludwigshöhe (4,343), Corno Nero (4,322), Parrotspitze (4,434), Balmenhorn (4,167), Vincentpyramide (4,215), Signalkuppe (4,554), and Zumstein (4,563) over the next two days. We have several options here, and can also adapt the entire tour to our individual fitness level. Proper acclimatization is very important! On this tour, we'll be constantly at very high altitudes and in a breathtaking glacial landscape. The overnight stays in the huts, at 3,647 and 4,554 meters, are among the highest in the Alps. The panorama of the Valais mountains will accompany us throughout the second and third days. The tour doesn't present any major technical difficulties, but it definitely requires a good level of fitness.

PROGRAM

We meet in Alagna, at the ticket counter at the valley station. We can also arrange an alternative meeting point when booking and travel together.

Day 1:
After a quick equipment check, we get a lift ticket and take the cable car up to 3,275 meters. From the top station at Punta Indren, we take a leisurely walk to the Gnifetti Hut on the first day. There, we'll be treated to a sensational dinner and refuel for the next two days.

Tip: Extra 4,000-meter peak
There's the option to climb another 4,000-meter peak (Punta Giordani - 4,046 meters) on the first day. If you'd like to increase your summit collection to 8 4,000-meter peaks in 3 days with this option, you must explicitly request this option when booking and book it (at an additional cost)!

Day 2:
The next morning, we'll set off early. We can visit several four-thousand-meter peaks on our way to the highest mountain hut in the Alps without any superhuman exertion. Good physical fitness is nevertheless required. Our first summit goal will be the Corno Nero (4,322 meters *possible with a maximum of two guests), followed by the Ludwigshöhe (4,344 meters) and the Parrotspitze (4,443 meters). On the other side, we descend slightly and cross the beautiful and impressive glaciers of the Mont Rosa massif towards the Signalkuppe. Constantly in view are some of the most brilliant and impressive mountain panoramas in the Alps, with some famous names such as the Matterhorn, Dent Blanche, Zinalrothorn, Dent Herens, and Weisshorn, to name just a few. At the end of the day, we can visit the Zumstein (4,563 meters) and reach the Signalkuppe, another four-thousand-meter peak, which, as a special feature, is home to the highest hut in the entire Alps on its summit – the Capanna Regina Margherita at an impressive 4,554 meters.

Day 3:
Now it pays to have ensured proper acclimatization in advance. Thanks to the previous day's efforts, you'll have had a restful night. After a magnificent sunset in the evening, a sunrise on the other side of the hut follows in the morning, no less spectacular. After all, we're on one of the highest peaks in the Alps and can enjoy the spectacle practically from our room bed. We then head back toward the Gnifetti Hut, taking on all the peaks we saved for the previous day on our descent. The Vincent Pyramid (4,215) and the Balmhorn (4,167) are a good combination option here. In the late morning, we reach the Gnifetti Hut again. From here, it's about another 400 meters of descent to the cable car, which then takes us back to the parking lot.

An unforgettable high-altitude tour with no fewer than seven four-thousand-meter peaks in three days, plus an overnight stay at the highest mountain hut in the Alps, is behind us. An experience that is only possible in this form here in the Monte Rosa massif. After 3 exhausting days, we return home with countless priceless memories.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
