ABOUT THE TOUR

Spaghetti Arrabbiata - Monte Rosa Massif: The Spaghetti Circuit in the Monte Rosa Massif is undoubtedly one of the most famous alpine traverses in the entire Alps. While the classic circuit includes ascents of wonderful peaks, the absolute highlights of the massif are often neglected. Time and again, the view wanders from the Naso up to the Liskamm crossing. From the summit of the Zumstein, one gazes enviously after those tackling the ridge to the Dufourspitze, and many alpine tourers miss the Nordend in their tour books. This is the somewhat more challenging version of this classic. However, as the name suggests, the technical and physical demands on this circuit are significantly higher. In return, a one-to-one guide is offered throughout the entire circuit – something that would otherwise be impossible. The Spaghetti Arrabbiata is a tour for ambitious summiteers who have already gained experience in high-altitude touring or who may have already felt the tingling under their fingers on the classic Spaghetti Circuit and have already dreamed of the Liskamm Traverse, the Pollux and the Dufourspitze.

PROGRAM

Day 1 - Breithorn:
Meeting point in Zermatt and cable car ride to the Klein Matterhorn – Europe's highest cable car station. From the Klein Matterhorn, we'll head up to the Breithorn and then across the wildly jagged glacier of the Grande Ghiacciaio di Verra to the Ayas Hut.

Day 2 - Pollux and Castor:
The next day, two peaks are on the agenda. Fittingly, the twin peaks of Pollux and Castor. We'll cross the latter and descend to the Rifugio Quintino Sella, where we'll spend the night.

Day 3 - Liskamm Traverse:
On the third day, we'll first climb back up to the Felikjoch and then continue to the Western Liskamm. From here, the breathtaking Liskamm Traverse begins, reaching the Eastern Liskamm and descending into the Lisjoch. We should be well acclimatized by now, as another climb to Europe's highest mountain hut awaits: the Capanna Margherita at a proud 4,554 meters.

Day 4 - Zumstein, Dufourspitze, and Nordend:
On the last day of the Spaghetti Arrabbiata Tour, we climb Zumstein at sunrise and then cross the connecting ridge to Dufourspitze, the highest point in Switzerland. We abseil to the Silbersattel and continue along the beautiful snow ridge to Nordend. This is followed by a long descent past the Monte Rosa Hut to the Gornergrat Railway, which will take us back to Zermatt.

A challenging 4-day tour with the absolute highlights of the Monte Rosa Massif. The tour starts off leisurely, allowing us to warm up and acclimatize to the altitude. The difficulty and fitness requirements increase day by day, culminating in the summits on the third and fourth days with the Liskamm crossing and the traverse over Zumstein to Dufourspitze and Nordend. For all those who already know the easier peaks from the classic Spaghetti Circuit and have already dreamed of bigger goals.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
