ABOUT THE TRIP
Canada - Ski Touring Trip: Canada's west coast is one of the snowiest regions on earth. The Canadian Rockies are the ideal destination for winter sports enthusiasts, as well as ski and snowboard enthusiasts. Some of the best ski resorts are nestled in a sparsely populated and endlessly expansive landscape, offering virtually unlimited opportunities for solitary touring days and an abundance of untouched powder slopes. We'll be helicoptered to our own lodge in the heart of the Canadian Rockies for a whole week, where we'll have an entire area to ourselves and can let off steam on the surrounding peaks and slopes. The small but cozy lodge will serve as a warm base, where we can warm up in the in-house sauna after long days outdoors in the snow and make new plans. A trip to Vancouver is a must, of course. From February onwards, the bay is even one of the best spots for whale watching or taking a trip to Vancouver Island. Overall, a trip with so much to offer and one that will bring us much joy in every respect, long afterward.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival
We'll fly to the west coast of Canada, specifically to Vancouver. Snow-covered British Columbia is calling. Because we're flying ahead of schedule, we'll arrive in Canada just a few hours later that same day. We'll pick up our rental car at the airport and recover from our journey in a nearby hotel, ready to begin our Canadian adventure the next day.
Day 2: Freeride and First Tracks in Canada's Powder
Jet lag will get us up early, and we'll head off to one of the many top ski resorts in the area. These are world-renowned in British Columbia, especially for their freeride opportunities. This day will help us familiarize ourselves with the Canadian snow and get a first impression of what awaits us in the coming days. Typically dry and particularly fine powder snow – and plenty of it.
Days 3-4: Ski Touring in the Rocky Mountains
In the following days, we will delve deeper into the Canadian Rockies and explore the immense variety of touring options. Our touring skis, which we hope we've packed with sufficient width, will give us the opportunity to reach untouched slopes and carve our first lines in Canada's deep snow. There's also the option of using one of these days for heliskiing or cat skiing – two freeride options that are world-renowned, especially in Canada, and are among the best in the world. We can arrange this upon request (from approximately €850, depending on the package).
Day 5: Transfer to Lodge
On day 5, we head to the heli base. First, we need to do some smart shopping for the next 7 days. Afterwards, we'll be dropped off by helicopter at our private lodge in the deep snow-covered wilderness of the Canadian Rockies. The small but cozy lodge will be our warm home for the next 7 days. After our arrival, we'll settle in and make plans for the coming days.
Days 6-11: Our own freeride mecca
We now have 6 full days to explore our own area, climb the surrounding peaks, and, above all, enjoy as many fantastic deep-snow runs as possible. Our lodge will serve as our starting point and base, returning in the evening, tired but with big smiles on our faces. To round off the adventure, we'll be self-catering. While some of us cook, others can heat up the sauna. Of course, there's also the option of having meals cooked for us at the lodge - upon request, the owner will arrange this for a small additional charge.
Day 12: Transfer to Vancouver
After 7 days away from the hustle and bustle – just us, Canadian powder, and endless snow-covered slopes and forests – it's time to say goodbye to this magical place. We'll be picked up by helicopter and taken back to civilization. Afterwards, we'll continue on to Vancouver and toast to a few fantastic days of deep snow.
Day 13: Vancouver Island
The day before our departure offers several options: We can either use the day to immerse ourselves in the hustle and bustle of Vancouver City and explore this wonderful city, or we can take one of the numerous excursions available in the area (whale watching - one of the best spots in the world, or a trip to Vancouver Island, and much more...)
Day 14: Return home (+1 day)
After two weeks, it's time to say goodbye to Canada and its stunning natural landscapes. However, we certainly won't be flying home empty-handed - these impressions and memories of the last few days will bring a smile to our faces for a long time to come. On the return journey, we'll fly across time zones and arrive back in Europe one day later.
