ABOUT THE TRIP

Valpelline - Ski Touring Trip: The Valpelline in the Aosta Valley offers a first-class mountain backdrop. It borders directly to the south on the Valais four-thousand-meter peaks such as the Grand Combin, Dent Herens, and the Matterhorn. The mountains are accordingly wild and impressive. Nevertheless, the Valpelline offers wonderful touring opportunities, suitable for beginners and, depending on the tour selection, for challenging and long adventures. The valley is largely undeveloped for tourism. Ski slopes and lifts are nonexistent. You will encounter very few people on the tours: the surrounding mountains are too prominent and attractive, thus having a cleansing effect on this beautiful valley. We will be treated to typical regional delicacies and excellent cuisine at our accommodation. A ski touring week that leaves nothing to be desired.

- Climbs of 1,100 - 1,500 meters (3-4 hours)

- Skiing on the slopes (parallel turns) should be no problem, allowing you to manage even in deep snow.

PROGRAM

Day 1: Arrival
Together or separately, we'll travel to the Aosta Valley and from the capital of this autonomous region of Italy, we'll head into the long valley toward the main Alpine ridge. The mountains become ever higher, the terrain more rugged and forbidding. This is the perfect place for unforgettable ski touring days.

Days 2-6: Ski touring in Valpelline
In the coming days, we'll take advantage of the many touring options directly from our accommodation. With the high peaks all around, there's plenty to see and marvel at during the tours. It's hard to believe the beautiful slopes for skiing there are between the rocky mountain colossi. We'll take full advantage of the ski touring options and are usually happy to be alone. Hardly any other ski tourers get lost in this wonderful spot. At the end of the tours, we'll be welcomed with Italian hospitality at our accommodation and treated to local delicacies.

Day 7: Return Home
After a week, it's time to say goodbye to Valpelline. With fond memories and many great photos of our ski tours, we begin our journey home – probably with the thought of returning to this wonderful valley soon.
