ABOUT THE TOUR
Sesto Sundial - Dolomites: We will climb a total of six peaks on this Dolomites circuit. The major difference to most Dolomites weeks is that these are almost exclusively challenging and rarely climbed routes. The names of the individual peaks, and of this circuit itself, come from the fact that the sun shines more or less directly over these imposing summits at the respective time of day when looking south from Sexten towards the Dolomites. Simply put, starting with the Eight and Nine, we will climb the Ten, Eleven, Twelve, and One. How wonderful not to have to remember complicated peak names! The Sexten Dolomites are among the most impressive groups in the entire Dolomites region, and spending six days traversing them in breathtaking surroundings is a truly special experience – especially since we will hardly encounter any other climbers on most of these routes. Challenging terrain, brittle passages, lots of scree on the numerous ledges we will cross, and long days of touring require very sure-footed and physically fit mountaineers on this route.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Achter and Neunerkofel (III)
We begin our tour at the Kreuzberg Pass and will first climb the Achter, also known as Arzalpenkopf, before reaching our first more challenging climbing peak, the Neunerkofel.
Overnight stay: Rifugio Antonio Berti
Day 2: Zehnerkofel
On the second day, the Zehnerkofel is on the agenda. We reach the summit via the Zandonellasteig trail. To reach our base for the next night, we also have the Alpinisteig trail on our itinerary today.
Overnight stay: Zsigmondy Hut
Day 3: Elferkofel (III)
Continuing clockwise, we will climb the Elferkofel on the third day. After the short via ferrata section on the Zehner, from today onwards we can expect only alpine and rarely climbed routes and peaks. The Elfer is a long, but very varied and impressive tour. Afterwards, we return to the Zsigmondyhütte and make ourselves comfortable once again.
Overnight stay: Zsigmondy Hut
Day 4: Zwölferkofel (IV)
The Zwölfer is the most challenging peak of the Sexten Sundial. But by now we're used to the terrain, so even the grade IV sections and the alpine terrain are no longer a problem for us. We'll spend another night in the wonderfully cozy Zsigmondy Hut.
Overnight stay: Zsigmondy Hut
Day 5: Einserkofel (III)
Last day on the Sexten Sundial Circuit. Another secluded and rarely climbed peak awaits us as a final highlight before we head back to the Fischlein Valley, from where we'll pick up our car at the Kreuzberg Pass.
*Secluded Dolomite peaks and rarely climbed routes await you on the Sexten Sundial. Early booking is essential to secure beds at the beautifully situated Zsigmondy Hut. While we can certainly try for last-minute bookings, we cannot guarantee availability.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
