ABOUT THE TOUR
The Spaghetti Circuit in the Monte Rosa Massif is one of the great classic alpine tours in the Alps. We will climb no fewer than 10 four-thousand-meter peaks in the Monte Rosa Massif over six days. The technical difficulties are not particularly great, but we will be constantly at high altitudes. Proper acclimatization is highly recommended in preparation for this tour. We will stay primarily in Italian huts—hence the name of this crossing. These huts, all of which are among the highest in the Alps, now offer considerably more in terms of cuisine. Overall, an unforgettable week of touring awaits us in a breathtaking world of ice, snow, and rock, in which we will be completely immersed.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Arrival and Meeting Point
We meet in the late afternoon at the Hotel Bergfreund in Herbriggen. Together, we'll check our equipment and discuss the upcoming program for the Spaghetti Circuit. Afterwards, we'll enjoy a delicious dinner in this accommodation, which is entirely geared towards mountaineers.
Day 2: Zermatt - Breithorn (4,164)
We'll travel together to Zermatt and from there take the cable car up to the Klein Matterhorn at 3,883 meters. The ascent of the Breithorn is an ideal introductory tour for our planned circuit and leads over 400 meters of elevation gain without any technical difficulties to the first four-thousand-meter peak of our circuit. The descent then leads towards our guide, the Ayas Hut, which is located at 3,425 meters.
6 hours – ↑ 400 meters elevation gain - ↓ 850 meters elevation loss
Day 3: Guide, the Ayas Hut - Castor (4,221)
We set off early on the third day for the Castor crossing. After breakfast, we set off toward the Verra Glacier and climb the northwest ridge to the summit of Castor. Here, we enjoy the magnificent panoramic view during a leisurely summit break before continuing our traverse down the southeast ridge to the Felikjoch. Our goal for today is the Quintino Sella Hut at 3,584 meters.
6 hours – ↑ 800 meters elevation gain – ↓ 650 meters elevation loss
Day 4: Rifugio Quintino Sella - Naso (4,205), Balmenhorn (4,167), and Vincent Pyramid (4,215)
Day 4 offers three 4,000-meter peaks, which we can add to our summit books at the end of the day. Our first destination is the summit of Naso (4,205 m). We then continue across the impressive glacier flanks of the Monte Rosa massif – always well above 3,000 meters – and climb the Balmenhorn (4,167 m) and the Vincent Pyramid (4,215 m) before enjoying a fantastic dinner at the Gnifetti Hut.
7 hours – ↑ 1,200 m elevation gain – ↓ 1,400 m elevation gain
Day 5: Capanna Gnifetti - Ludwigshöhe (4,341 m), Corno Nero (4,215 m), Parrotspitze (4,436 m), Signalkuppe (4,554 m)
We're going one better today. It will be the longest day on our Spaghetti Circuit, and it will take us up four 4,000-meter peaks. Passing the peaks of the previous day, we head straight towards Ludwigshöhe (4,341 m). Nearby, we also reach the Corno Nero (4,215 m) and continue our ascent toward the Parrotspitze (4,436 m). This fifth day is rounded off with the ascent of the Signalkuppe (4,554 m) before we can look forward to another highlight: an overnight stay in Europe's highest mountain hut: the Capanna Margherita. The best part: We are well acclimatized from the four days we have already spent at high altitude and can enjoy our stay in the hut, known for its excellent food.
9 hours – ↑ 1,500 m elevation gain – ↓ 700 m elevation gain
Day 6: Capanna Margherita - Zumsteinspitze (4,563 m) - Zermatt
We still have one last four-thousand-meter peak to climb on the last day of our Spaghetti Circuit. After breakfast at the Margherita Hut, we climb the Zumsteinspitze (4,563 m) – our tenth four-thousand-meter peak in five days. Next, we descend through rock and ice into the green valley. Along the way, we stop at the Monte Rosa Hut at 2,795 meters for a light refreshment. Once we arrive in Zermatt, we return to the Hotel Herbriggen, where we say goodbye after what we hope will be a fantastic tour.
8 hours – ↑ 500 meters elevation gain – ↓ 2,300 meters elevation gain
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
