ABOUT THE TOUR

Triglav - North Face Slovenian Trail: At 2,864 meters, Triglav is the highest peak in the Julian Alps and, as Slovenia's highest mountain, is one of the Seven Summits of the Alps. Its distinctive shape makes it visible from distances of over 100 kilometers. Its imposing north face, which towers above the Vrata Valley, is 1,500 meters high and over 3 kilometers wide. This makes it the longest wall in the Eastern Alps after the Watzmann East Face. The mountain holds special significance for Slovenia and is one of its national symbols. The mountain appears on both the national flag and Slovenia's 50-cent coins.

PROGRAM

We meet early in the morning at the Aljazev Dom hut at the end of the Vrata Valley. After a quick gear check, we set off toward the impressive north face of Triglav. Our route, the Slovenian Way, leads through the left and, at 800 meters, somewhat lower section of this mighty rock bastion. A skillful route, which requires a very good sense of direction and alpine experience, leads us through the wall. The difficulty never exceeds grade III. After several hours of climbing, the wall spits us out onto the karst plains east of the summit. We continue to Triglav Cathedral and climb the final 300 meters to the summit via the via ferrata. For the descent, we choose the Prague Way.

Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
