ABOUT THE TOUR
At 3,768 meters, the Wildspitze in the Ötztal Alps is the second-highest peak in Austria. It is only 30 meters below the Großglockner. The tour to the Wildspitze is a top-class alpine tour, particularly suitable for beginners in the world of glacier touring. Traveling on one of the largest remaining glaciers in the Eastern Alps, this tour offers a wonderful insight into this fascinating world of snow and ice. Relatively few technical difficulties make this an easy entry, but a good level of fitness is required. The summit is high, and the tour accordingly long. A short but spectacular summit ridge provides an unforgettable finale before we marvel at the surrounding mountains from the highest point in North Tyrol. An experience and an alpine tour that definitely should be included in every tour guide.

PROGRAM
Day 1: Ascent to Taschachhaus
We meet at the parking lot of the Pitztal Glacier Express. Alternatively, we can arrange a different meeting point when booking and travel together to Mandarfen in the Pitztal valley. At the parking lot, we'll do a quick gear check and then take a leisurely three-hour ascent to the Taschachhaus. We'll first walk along a forest path, then from the cable car, we'll follow a well-maintained trail to the German Alpine Club (DAV) training center at 2,434 meters.
Day 2: Wildspitze
The next morning, it's time to get up early. At the Taschachhaus's lavish breakfast buffet, we'll replenish our energy reserves for the upcoming ascent to Wildspitze and then set off by the light of our headlamps. At first light, we'll reach the glacier, where we'll change into crampons and, as a rope team, immerse ourselves in the impressive icy landscape of the Taschachferner. We'll now be traveling for several hours on completely glaciated terrain. Only the short ridge climb directly at the summit requires some easy rock climbing before we can enjoy the magnificent summit panorama from the Wildspitze. For the descent, we have several options, which we can choose depending on our mood and the conditions. Regardless of which we ultimately choose, at the end of the tour we will pass back by the Taschachhaus and toast to a successful and fantastic alpine tour.
Any changes to the program that may be necessary for various reasons (weather, conditions, accommodation booking situation, etc.) will always be made in consultation with the participants.
